seethe harder faggot

Gay

why would a record company need to buy someone out when a twitter mob can destroy you for free?

dont people get tired of this faggots endless tirade of adjectives he likes to call 'reviews'? seriously, what inciteful thing has he ever said?

He could've just said that he enjoys some of the experimentation but that it's trying too hard. The more time passes the more I think Christgau was onto something with his review format.

i listened to one song and it sounded like a kid doing a piano exercise while somebody plays drums in the other room

based type post

learn more words, lmao

>The music in this is label label label and it appeals to me because label label label label.

>ding dong ping pong
>clang clang clang
>woOoooOOooOoo

this is music?

>inciteful
you meant 'insightful' you retarded cunt

are you being pretentious about not being pretentious?

Oh no ! A word ! He used a word !

Based summary

>thinking newspaper is about a love triangle

yeah I'm thinking YIKES on this one

In all seriousness I would give the album an 8 but his review seemed pretty fair apart from the fact that he can't understand a metaphor for domestic violence apparently.

Why did the melon use words to describe the music???? Why didn't he just play the album?? Review is bad!

dont you incels get tired of talking shit about him all the time?

yes

only fucking cucks use adjectives

his criticisms make no sense coming from a guy who loves Death Grips, Daughters, and (most) Tom Waits ... he praises the more conventional elements (like the opening of the first track) and disses on the more experimental elements

>only fucking cucks use adjectives
The comebacks write themselves

It's because the experimental elements are not experimental, they're very inelegantly lifted from those artists.

Literally my first thought after the album was "yeah that was alright, kind of like a Tom Waits record."

It's literally a 3/10. Not even memeing.

Do people like you expect him to write a Pynchonesque novel for every video he puts out? He's a fucking youtube reviewer, it's not that serious

but her voice and lyrics are absolutely nothing like Tom Waits ... production I sort of understand, but even Waits uses more 3/4 waltz time cabaret Kurt Veil type stuff than Fiona Apple.

>noooo don't use words to describe stuff that's pretentious

They expected more because Fiona Apple fans actually think p4k's opinion is law.

>ignoring the thread in the catalog
Is this reportable?

May as well, just don't tell anyone. As long as your reason for reporting isn't incredibly ungrounded, you won't be punished

It's better to just assume it is a bought opinion.
That's the approach I take to all opinions now and I see no problem with that. When you start accusing, generally the reality of the posting context emerges and then you decide if it's a real poster or just a corp shill.

Take JIDF posts versus a genuine Jew anons post. For starters the latter probably get's fucking irritated by the former.

There's a fair chunk of rhythm changes on this album, a lot of it actually is in 3/4 time. Vocally she does get to Tom Waits levels of gruff on a lot of tracks. Obviously her high tenor is far from Waits' low baritone, but the timbres are closer than you'd expect.

All I'm saying is that if you do listen to more experimental music regularly, then FTBC won't surprise you all that much. Which isn't inherently bad, as experimental isn't inherently good. My favorite albums take experimental elements and synthesize them into something that is surprisingly accessible. Personally though Fiona doesn't do much of that here- it's not that experimental nor is it really that accessible, which is probably on purpose. Still, I don't see the album being remembered for much longer beyond rabid p4k followers and Fiona fans. It really is just a good record, nothing revolutionary.

I'm going to report threads for not being gusic.

I don't know what to think of the record because the reviews have ruined this record for me. Now I can't unsee.

as expected, he said what he thought he needed to say to stir up some controversy and get people talking about him
do you honestly think he has any sincerity left? it was traded long ago for likes and subs

Based.

I'm not hearing much similarity ... other than clanging percussion

Did he ever have sincerity?
I mean why do you think Yas Forums talked about him?
He's always been a troll.

Which is honestly the biggest reason I hate p4k right now. If you're calling an album a 10, you better have solid justification and examples as to why that is. An album doesn't deserve a 10 just for its subject matter- the majority of music about violence and abuse is bad, it has to go further than that. Now instead of propping up the album for what it does right, everyone needs to knock it down for what it does wrong to lower expectations, otherwise everyone is going to be disappointed by how not a 10 this album is.

If it helps, pre reviews I thought it was a 7. I think Anthony hit the nail on the head.

The 10 was nothing, the actual wording of the article was the dumb part. It was about anything but music.
