I love electronic music, especially ambient, idm, and jungle, but I just cannot get into this album. I mostly just find it boring. Where's the appeal?
Can someone explain to me the appeal of this album?

Take mushrooms and listen to it again.
It's like listening to Moon Safari. You have to be in the right setting
go back to radiohead this is not for you
it is boring, never found the appeal myself.
run-of-the-mill downtempo, nice but nothing outstanding
n o s t a l g i a
It’s not downtempo, lol
it's jazz fusion
See that's interesting that you mention Moon Safari because I love that album, it's fun and chill, good for a rainy day. I guess it just draws me in more than this. Hmmm
You don't even know what downtempo is
it's like sissy hypno for music nerds
Air is downtempo, a lot of so called trip hop is downtempo. There used to be this radio station in Seattle called the Mountain, and after 6pm they’d play “the chill side of the Mountain” feat Morcheeba etc, that is downtempo and it sucks balls.
BOC is downtempo
I guess with other albums I get the point. SAW II is supposed to be creepy and anxiety inducing. Chill Out is a post roll comedown album. Is this just something to smoke weed/take mushrooms to?
It's about exploring childhood memories and themes of innocence/lack of understanding of the world. I think it's hard to fully appreciate without psychedelics.
Cool that makes sense in that context. While I most believe you shouldn't need drugs to enjoy a piece of music I get how that is part of the appeal of this one. Thanks
> Take mushrooms and listen to it again.
So you have to doctor it up with drugs to enjoy it?
Geogaddi is better, but it's still pretty good. The second half kicks the shit out of the first half, I'll give you that.
ITS A FUCKIN GREAT A FUCK A YOU
nah he means wake the fuck up, you're not seeing it. Jam some drugs in your ears and it might open you up
In what world is SAW II creepy and anxiety inducing
I mean, I had already realized it without drugs, and I do like it.
I guess OP was just one who needs it?

Feels like you're being stalked by otherworldly beings through an empty and decaying city
I dunno, it just always felt really organic for an electronic album to me. some of the sounds used should give off a "colder" vibe, but something about it always felt like an electric forest, dense and alive, the synths often bubble like a swamp. the spacey tracks like a glance of the stars through the trees. i dunno, but i always liked the album.
try listening this time
SAW II is spooky af guy
Looping Kaini Industries (their only good song) for hours
This album and Geogaddi are some of my all time faves but I've never done drugs. Am I missing out much?
same
BOC in general is just boring to me.
Music enhances drugs not the other way around.
Kill yourself.
