AOTYSF THREAD

This isn't my AOTYSF but if I post my actual AOTYSF this thread will get no replies and die after an hour.

Who cares? It's not like you have to pay to make a thread in here.
This is the best 2020 album I've listed to so far but I've only listened to this one and that Beach Bunny album anyway.

lol absolutely destroyed
Nice one user :D

Stop posting you fucking retard. Unironically listen to more music, lurk for a few months, then maybe post a bit.
The loss of Yas Forums's superiority complex and gatekeeping has been shit for board quality. You have shit taste. Now fuck off.

Fuck off loser lmao, new music is shit and so are you.

very good album I was surprised

What do you listen to? You've listened to the most hyped album of the year by mindless Pitchfork retards and a Veach Bunny album this year. How do you know good music isn't being made? Just look around for it.
But what do you listen to?

woooooo

Fiona Apple?

I mostly listen to new wave, synth pop, italo disco. Idc if new music is "good", I didn't like the new music I've listened to. I don't even remember what new stuff I listened to but I guess it was mostly stuff recommended here or random stuff that's on the front page of allmusic.com.
I liked indie bands up until 2011 or so. I liked some of the stuff that came out when the 80's synth stuff was suddenly popular again in the early 2010's.

Alright carry on, then. From your original post you sounded like you just got into music and were 14. I read it wrong.
My bad, user.

I WANT TO BE FIONA

This is pretty good

What happened to this board? It's never been all that good but what happened?
There used to be an AOTY thread like daily. I would search the catalog and almost always would find one.
Now look at this thread. 4 albums have been posted. The only reason this thread has any replies at all is because the latest flavor of the month garbage is the OP pic.
I appreciate everyone who has posted an album so far.
Fuck this board.

Porridge Radio is based. Have you heard much else from the South London scene she's in?
Also is mid right an actual album?

I haven't heard much, recc me some good stuff if you want!
Yes, it's the newest album by japanese band tricot

Jerskin is based

I feel like this style of music is going to become really popular this decade, genre is going to become more of an artistic tool than a set of guidelines

The people that used to post here are now depressed 30 somethings that were replaced by zoomers.

Ah shit I just realized I was wrong. Porridge Radio isn't in the South London scene. I don't remember where I first heard about them, then.
Either way, still based.

Been enjoying a lot of pop releases this year. Dua Lipa, Christine & The Queens and Rina Sawayama have been the highlights for me so far. Also love the new A.A.L. and Denzels Blood in Blood out mix.

All that long rant for what? You just hate this particular album (or Fiona Apple herself).

Charli XCX will bring out AOTY

Indeed. I've been trying to get some discussion on that whole scene started on here for awhile but it hasn't gone the best.
Jerskin, James Martin, all of Isaac Wood's stuff, Famous are all very exciting and don't really sound like much else I've heard. Hoping to hear a lot more from that style, as well as from the more conventional artists around that scene.

Sorry for calling that guy foreskin

>ywn take part in a Himalaya Massive Ritual

Why live?

I could care less about the album. I'm just sick of how little discussion there is here any more. This board has always been lacking in discussion but at this point the discussion has reached a new, intolerable low.

Don't apologize, user.
It was very funny and epic

Never got metal before, but this sounds pretty good.
Those vocals at least are fantastic

pic related is the only album from 2020 i have bothered to listen to, so i guess it's my AOTYSF

Attached: 1586567541891.jpg (770x770, 283.95K)

I remember being here in 2014 or so and didn't come back until now because it was 100% gatekeeping and everyone was needlessly rude to each other. Also the memes were cringe back then.

I bet they didn't have the rights to use that Scarjo album cover art.

Gatekeeping is better than what we have now. It was stupid and cringe but you need some level of gatekeeping to keep out unabashed retards.
Gatekeeping makes new people strive to look for more music, and pushes them to get used to board culture before posting.
Now you just get random retards strolling in from Instagram/Reddit/wherever and making the majority of threads.

These are mostly going by first impressions. My tastes usually don't run so poppy but I haven't really heard any good rock this year.

the new body count is sick

Why is that album in particular the only 2020 album you've heard so far?

Yeah I've given it second thoughts and now I think you are right. I still think it's not so bad right now but I'm sure that if I stopped coming here and came back next year I'd notice how much worse it will be. I hope it doesn't turn into a pure shitposting board like Yas Forums.

because someone here recommended it to me and i checked it out. none of the real big releases so far this year have caught my fancy

Redpill me /mupol/. Why is Fiona Apple suddenly being shilled everywhere? Is it Gen-X nostalgia?

I just finished the album. Honestly the first three songs kinda put me off. It seemed like he wasn't really good enough at sound design to pull off the experimental stuff he was trying. From Swamp onward the poppier sound worked a lot better. Overall it is good and will probably grow on me a lot as i become accustomed to the style.
