Why does Earl get a pass and applause for being mediocre? This guys most recent music doesn't even compare to his early work all the way up until 2015. He doesn't even try to make a cohesive song, but for some reason the sloppy and "experimental" presentation is seen as artistic. Even if I don't like this new direction, artists like Mavi do a better job than him in presentation and lyrical ability. I don't understand why Some Rap Songs, an compilation of rough short demos pieced together in a short amount of time and disguised as an album is put up there with MBDTF or whatever.
Why does Earl get a pass and applause for being mediocre...
I agree
IMPRECISE WORDS
am i dumbass for thinking this or am i just not understanding srs? i've literally fucking listened to it several times and just dissecting shit and it just doesnt sound good to me
Because Earl a cute! CUTE!
I've never listened to Earl's stuff after Doris. I will go listen to it and tell you whether you are getting filtered or not.
alright Im on the 5th track and I can confidently say that you've been filtered. this is pretty cool.
listen to more experimental hip hop and electronic music and you'll probably see what he was going for. try reading the lyrics while listening to it. seeing the verses written down will probably give it more structure. also try to follow the bass lines so you can get into the groove.
SRS is his best work. Come back to it later on. It nails the feeling of what he’s going for
Just leave him alone man..
2bh i hate all the "you need to listen to experimental shit to get music" all you have to do is be open to feeling the negativity of its features
like putting it on and getting frustrated is like the dude who puts on regular music and wonders why hes not already dancing
