STOP listening to meme artists

But people who listen to those artists are degrading music as an art form. They are listening to and promoting artists who believe that life, and especially art, should be treated as a “meme” and a “joke” and never taken seriously. That’s what all of those artists promote.

no they aren't, your opinion sucks

Explain to me how meme music like Death Grips and King Gizzard can possibly be viewed in any way as serious art.

w-w-what,you are telling that random vocals on random beats are not serious art? b-b-but they are so experimental

>pushing the boundaries of sampling as an art form and combining the energy of math rock/hardcore with hip hop
>sliding between genre effortlessly and having released a huge catalogue within a small time while still always sounding like the same band
I'm not even a huge fan of either but they're definitely both bands that are providing progress to, as you've put, "music as an art form"

>Lil B
>gen z
what even...?

>edgy guy screams memeable quotables over knockoff industrial beats to make the zoomer kids go crazy. “Kek so funny mr Grips!!!” They also do dumb shit like collaborating with the director of Shrek, because Shrek is a meme now and it gets them the wacky Gen Z memelord audience
and
>woah guys look at us we’re making 4 albums a year of ZANY and KOOKY psychedelic rock! aren’t we such a massive meme?! “Kek based le gizz!”

user I don't think you understand art

I don’t think Gen Z (you) understands art.

>reductionist bullshit stemming from clueless ignorance
King Gizzard and Death Grips have produced more and better art than you ever will, you self-righteous windbag
