folk is traditional music past on through word of mouth and community sharing

all music that is bought in sold as consumer product--- ie all albums-- is pop

Mark Melanson - Haunted Hearse

Yes it is?

No, it isn’t. People talk about folk as a commercial genre all the time.

You probably know this one, but he's The go-to underappreciated folk singer of the '60s

What if the album is distributed for free, like many have been?

I love this album so much: youtube.com/watch?v=CVSPvWeUw1o
A lot of his other albums have more traditional instrumentation if you're more into that but this album sounds fantastic.

Everybody should listen to this 10/10 masterpiece. Daisuke Tobari might just be the most honest artist I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. His music feels intimate and sincere.
