Lets be real

lets be real
if this album had different lyrical content pitchfork wouldn't have given it a ten
and this board would be rating it a lot higher

The real patricians weren't paying attention to the lyrics anyways. Let the lyricsfags get filtered like they always do.

I think the lyrics and the vocals are really strong. I'm actually just not that interested in some of the arrangements. I read a bit of the Pitchfork review before listening and was expecting something really primal and with a lot of space in it - but it's actually quite baroque and hollow. Still good

English isn't my first language so I never really pay attention to the lyrics. I really like this album. Have listened to it maybe 6-7 times so far.

the lyrics are great but they deal with #metoo type stuff and are ostensibly feminist, which triggers the Yas Forumstard and makes the pitchfag cum

I mean, it's a woman writing an album from a female perspective in a self-aware way. I didn't even think there was any identity politics undercurrent to it, just felt really personal. I'm sure a wider context was definitely on her mind, but I think it's testament to her ability that she makes wider ideas on female identity feel completely personal

Is this gonna be the next light 6 that ends fantano?

Fetch the White Wine

So you are saying that if the album was about something completely different it might not have recieved the same score......wow how insightful. You're literally retarded lmao

Its the music that sucks ass lmao, cope however you want

This is the exact opposite for me. I find the vocals and especially the performances very annoying

especially the lyrics*

>music is a literary medium

I took the most painful fiery shit of my life while reading this thread on the toilet and I came to realize none of this matters

what metoo/feminist stuff? i know about for her but besides that i didn't pay attention to em

Only one song is "#metoo" related lol.

Yeaup

pretty much yea

Ayyup

Yeah. It's not a bad album, but the ten is totally dependent of a specific timing. It's a post-#metoo album.

Some examples of cringe lyrics?

And we thought critical scores of womens work were inflated before...
Post-#metoo
Whew...

>if an integral part of the album had been different..
then the album would have been different retard

>men bad
>10/10

why do people eat this shit up?

pitchfork fucked up not giving "the idler wheel..." 10/10 so they're pushing her new one

it baffles me that women's inspiration for their music revolves 100% around men yet they can't stop complaining about them.

>if this album had different lyrical content
So if it were a completely different album? Then obviously yes.

see this retard
...most of men's musical inspiration revolved around women. attraction/love/etc is a powerful force and dominates art, even indirectly

>why do singers in a highly confessional tradition mention half the population so much???

based

>most of men's musical inspiration revolved around women

I know. I am not saying it's bad but to solely talk about that all of the time? look throughout the most critically acclaimed albums made by men and you'll find topics like politics, ego, death, fame, fantasy shit, satire, AND love. women only talk about how they love men and how they hate men. Newsom is the only woman I can think about who doesn't talk mostly about that.
