Hi, I'm pretty satisfied with the Bebop and Hard Bop choices on the chart. Maybe I'd include one of the Clifford-Roach albums, considering their importance on the genre, but I understand that choosing only 5 records is pretty hard. Good work on this early jazz section. It's really good imo. I can't comment on any other section of this chart because I don't know about them enough, though, kek. But why did you choose Baker Sings? I wanna understand this specific choice.
Elijah Sullivan
>Maybe I'd include one of the Clifford-Roach albums Yeah, I could add one of their albums (I'm assuming their debut from 1954), but there are already two albums from 1953/1954, so I wanted to extend the span of hard bop for longer. I'm guessing if it were to replace an album it would be the Thelonius' self titled, but only if it happens to be that's not actually a hard bop album. I mention this because Art Blakey is considered to be the originator, and yet that album is from two years prior Art Blakey's debut album.
>why did you choose Baker Sings? I wanna understand this specific choice. Well, there were five spots for cool jazz albums, so I wanted to go with some cool jazz that wasn't instrumental. It's also a very popular album of the genre. That's it, really.

>glitch Why not that one classical album from 1990?
Also I think that The Notekillers were the first math rock band
Samuel Fisher
>Quim Barreiros - o Melhor De Based. Much better than the Algarve one
Jordan Jones
Got it. Also, Country Joe & The Fish's record doesn't have a title nor date. I assume it's a little mistake? Anyways, nice work, pal.
Benjamin Young
>Why not that one classical album from 1990? Which one?
>Also I think that The Notekillers were the first math rock band Well, a lot of bands played with odd time signatures and the like before the 80s, but none of these were part of the math rock tradition that emerged out of post-hardcore, otherwise the earliest math rock band would probably be something like Mad River frmo 1968.

Few questions of curiosity 1. Have you listened to everything on the chart? I betting you haven't because it's a lot but it would be cool if you have. 2. How did you pick the classical recordings? Did you just pick what sounded best?

IIRC that one isn't actual glitch music.
1) I have skimmed through all of them, but I haven't listened to all of those in their entirety.
2) You mean the performance for each piece? I just went with the most popular example at RYM, with a few exceptions.
