>If punk was about getting rid of hippies, then I'm getting rid of grunge
If punk was about getting rid of hippies, then I'm getting rid of grunge
>1994
>says that
>1997
>makes pic related inspired by american alt rock and lo-fi
What did he mean by this?
Must've failed, because I have no clue who this guy is.
Damon Albarn is the embodiment of affected cool without content. Kneejerk anti-Americanism, trendy politics, just an all-round embarrassment. At least Oasis just wanted to live it up and have fun.
>anti-Americanism
wtf I love Damon Albarn now!
Yeah, making shitty radio pop for three decades really showed them.
why was grunge so good, gros?
who?
>He was dissatisfied with the shopping mall culture creeping in over here well that just goes to show what a pompous ass he is you know if you had the time to sit down and worry about American culture creeping into British society then I would get a proper fucking job you know other people are too busy trying to make a living. He's sort of a condescending cock ain't he? You know?
Based
grunge aged worse than britpop
lel
Embarrassing. lurk more newfag.
Britpop killed grunge. Deal with it yanks and race-traitor chavs.
Now that is based
>grunge aged worse than britpop
I like Suede, Supergrass, Pulp, and Elastica more than most grunge bands. But as a whole, grunge was way better than Britpop. At its core, grunge was a punk scene, whereas Britpopwas just a bunch of image-conscious pop rock bands, most of whom were mediocre and bland. There were so many good punk, metal, and indie bands in grunge. You can't tell me Blur or Oasis were better than Soundgarden, or even Mudhoney.
cute boy
>t. Britbong
I'm a grungefag but I'd rather listen to hair metal than this trash.
Hair metal at least has energy to it. A Paul Gilbert solo is also much more fun to watch and listen to than a bunch of prep schoolers making bad music as a "joke"
Apart from Oasis, yes. But then again, they were always shit.
>Britpop
I'll take Suede, Supergrass, Elastica, and Pulp.
>Grunge
I'll take Soundgarden, Hazel, Pearl Jam, Seaweed, Mudhoney, Babes in Toyland, Nirvana, and Love Battery.
You guys can keep your stupid scenes and groupthink.
I don't hate britpop a lot of it is great Gayman Alburn never had anything to do with any of it though.
this guy was dead to me after his bands nardwuar interview
It meant he knew britpop was dead and was sick of it after the great escape. Certainly not inspired by grunge and Graham had a much bigger hand in a lot of the songs this time
What a pair of marys
Very fucking true. Can still enjoy Suede, Pulp, Blur, Oasis or even derivative bands like Kaiser Chiefs. Grunge is only good for very specific nostalgia trips
what are good grunge bands
They were better lol.
I'm British and I cannot disagree more strongly with this statement.
