Be 17

>be 17
>get into music for the first time
>want to learn guitar and piano
>"i cant do it at 17, i'm too old to learn now. should have done it when i was 12."
>7 years later
>be 24
>my whole life is music, listening to music, discovering new music, thinking about music
>have dreams about the songs i would write
>come up with melodies and imagine instrumentals to go with them
>imagine what i would call an album if i made one
>imagine what i would call my musical project or what i would call a band if i was starting one
>desperately want to learn guitar and piano
>"i cant do it at 24. i'm too old. why didn't i just do it when i was 17?"
>feeling of endless bottomless despair in my stomach

Haven't you posted this before?

:( fuck off :)

haven't you posted this several times every day for like a month?

Do it user I believe in you, I'm 20 and started playing guitar 6 months ago. Even if I never make it big with all the ideas I have it doesn't matter, it's something you'll be able to do. Buy a guitar or keyboard and don't look back.

J mascis from dino jr didn’t pick up a guitar until he was 23. Practiced 16 hours and day and now he’s one of the most famous guitarists ever

>think you're too old to learn anything at 24

I get it if you're 50, but 24 isn't "too old" for anything.

U planning on joining the 27 club or something?

You sound like a troll anyways.

Wrong.
>Mascis became a music fan and drumming enthusiast at the age of 9. He later joined the jazz ensemble in school as a drummer. At 17, Mascis joined the short-lived hardcore group Deep Wound with Lou Barlow, Scott Helland, and Charlie Nakajima in the early 1980s. He went on to found Dinosaur Jr. with bassist Barlow and drummer Emmett Jefferson "Patrick" Murphy (aka "Murph") in 1984, switching to guitar in the process, and they achieved national success.

lol wtf this isn't true at all

Michael Gira learned guitar in his twenties, so you can at least do shit music that appeals to sociology majors.

>Michael Gira learned guitar in his twenties
Proof? Every time someone posts something like this, it turns out it's an urban myth and that actually they were playing music in some form since childhood. I'm convinced that there are literally NO late bloomers in the music industry.

Never too late to start. You already have an ear for it. I would take up something easier like drums and singing. Both of these are a bit more intuitive. Then you don't have to fuck around with patterns and scales and shit like you would on guitar or piano.
>pick up electric drum kit for $350-$400
>learn to play and sing at the same time
>can always practice singing in car, church, voice lessons, etc.
>you'll never be a god-tier drummer but 99% of drummers are shit, retarded, or never show for gigs anyways. someone solid who can hold a beat, show up, and be reliable (+ sing backup!) is a great addition to any band
There you go.

He started playing guitar until he was 21. I got it wrong by 2 years

Yeah and he was drumming since NINE. Being proficient in one instrument and switching to another in adulthood does not count as being a late bloomer.

There are no examples of musicians who had NO musical experience at all, picked up an instrument for the first time ever in their 20s, and found any success. Not even small time success.

youre a lazy zoom op. anyone can learn music at any time. i know 50 year olds that take it up and become world class. the main pre-requisite is that you ENJOY music.

Just learn to play for fuck's sake.

Just fucking practice you idiot.

you can learn anything at any age

The only instrument that you can be too old for to reach a proficient level is piano, and even it has exceptions. I started playing guitar at 13 and have a friend who started at 19 and is better than me. Learn the basics and start practicing everyday for at least 30 minutes. Make sure your children get piano lessons when they are young. I believe in you user

Stupid fucking wojak poster.

I'm 23, and I'm thinking about picking up bass guitar. Should I get a teacher or learning online is enough?

FUCKING STOP POSTING THIS AND JUST PICK UP A GUITAR YOU FAGGOT.

I'm 24 and picked up a guitar a week and a half ago and can play 8 chords and switch between them quickly which is all you need to write a song. In 2 weeks if you post this again and you haven't started doing anything I'm gonna track you down and slap you across the face

this is literally just you being lazy.

Get rocksmith instead. they have like 30 bass lessons from putting the strap on to basic slap and pop.
>youtube.com/watch?v=GBs50dxjSX8

and most importantly it gets you playing MUSIC
>youtube.com/watch?v=ew8qFR4f46Y

>>"i cant do it at 24. i'm too old.
Wrong

>I'm convinced that there are literally NO late bloomers in the music industry.
Franco Corelli

Either start learning or fuck off and accept that you're too lazy to try, nobody is ever gonna have sympathy for a retard who complains about how they can't be bothered to do something they want to do.

>my only hobby is music

lmfao the state of people on this board. get a life faggots.

Ryo Fukui started learning at 22

fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

>the music industry.
Goalpost shifting

Just learn how to play, it's not that hard. You won't be Joe Satriani but at least you will stop posting this shit thread..

>success
Why is that relevant?
