Ben Shapiro is a Jewish Identitarian that pushes the brand of Jewish Identity Politics that he believes will help his fellow Jewish people the most. If you are Jewish, then yes, you would probably consider Ben Shapiro to on the right. If you are non-jewish, then Ben's brand of Internationalist Interventionism isn't right-wing at all. It is just another form of left-wing internationalist progressivism, mainly aligned with Trotsky's beliefs albeit slightly modified as a reaction to the Stalanist brand of Russian-centric communism. This is one of the reasons why Ben Shapiro hated Trump initially. Ben Shapiro's brand of "conservatism" historically has a hard-on for hurting Russian interests even when it is not in the best interests of the country doing the hurting.
At any rate, if you are non-jewish, then no, Ben Shapiro is not a conservative. He is not interested in conserving anything but his own Jewish interests.

Ben Shapiro's rage at the song should be a bit of a hint. It is a heavily emotional reaction, not a tempered analytical one. You could easily make a case against the song "Imagine". A Perfect Circle does this with their cover of the song IMO w/o even talking about the song. They do it just by a performance of the song using a slightly altered arrangement using a minor key or diminished harmonies (at least is sounds diminished in my memory's mind's eye, maybe it's just dissonant with minor 2nds?). At any rate, the thing that Ben is emotionally ranting about is the fact that the sentimental beautiful melody that Lennon uses hides the lyrical message. If you change the harmony of the song to be off-putting, you reveal the lyric's dark message, which once again, A Perfect Circle does quite brilliantly IMO.

A Perfect Circle even had radio play with their rendition of 'Imagine' somewhat recently. It's not like theirs is some hidden secret. All Ben would have to do is give their version some airplay and point out the "reveal" created by changing the harmonic content of the song.
The more interesting question would be to analyze why Ben Shapiro is so emotional over the song Imagine. We've already established he is NOT a conservative for people who are not Jews. He isn't really interested in conserving anything for non-Jewish people. So now you must ask: what threat does Ben Shapiro believe this song poses for the Jewish people and why?
