he likes fiona apple, he will almost certainly really enjoy the more experimental direction she takes on this album, and it would be a political and reputational coup for him to give it a 10. It's worth remembering that here it would be big news if he panned it because we know about the hype it has gotten in Pitchfork and other such outlets, but for most of his audience if he gave it a 6 it would be just another album getting a 6 - they don't follow any other critics and as such are blind to the context.
