I don't understand why people excuse misogyny in hip hop. Yes, I understand that it's ingrained in the culture at this point, but it doesn't make sense why overt women hatred is excused. Songs like Givin' Up the Nappy Dug Out and Look Who's Burnin' on pic related are awful, hateful incel anthems and when you complain about them people call you out for being sensitive, often citing Dr. Dre's The Chronic as an example of a misogynistic classic. But when you actually listen to The Chronic, the most misogynistic song on there is Bitches Ain't Shit, which is relatively tame and enjoyable compared to the vitriol on the former two tracks. There's a consensus in the hip hop community that lyrics like "I ain't got no manners for no sluts/I'mma put my thumb in her butt" are the exact same as One Less Bitch by N.W.A, and it makes no sense.
I don't understand why people excuse misogyny in hip hop. Yes...
typical philistine response
rap deals with reality and doesn't sugar coat it with morality. let's put it another way. it talks about the world they live, not the imaginary universe that middle class liberals like to imagine themselves living in. does that make sense sweetie?
but he presents it in a way that is completely uncritical of the subject at hand. just because he's trying to present reality doesn't mean he's allowed to spew hatred. it's important to discuss, but he's basically endorsing literal pedophilia on this album. on his last album, he talks about these subjects, but in a more critical light, examples being Who's the Mack? and It's a Man's World.
I never understand why people give a shit or trifle to find "excuses" for music. like you're over thinking music bro.
Normal people don’t care cause it’s a lame thing to get mad about, and SJWs don’t touch it because black people
>niggers treat women badly
shocker
it's not over thinking music to not wanna hear ice cube brag about having sex with minors.
I find it to be extremely useful as an example of why you should never fuck black guys.
misogyny is based
He addressed it on the next album kinda
plenty of rappers have called out misogyny in hip hop
he's addressing the scared white people who took his pro-black message the wrong way. not his overt misogyny. and honestly, even his pro-black message on the album is a little misguided on some tracks.
i'm not talking about rappers. i'm talking about the fans who take any criticism of hip hop canon as heresy and do mental gymnastics to justify why ice cube fucking a minor on the album is actually okay.
cute feet :3
It’s because they hate white people.
People who look like this will never call it out.
I think you were my music history professor at some point. Fuck you, scumbag.
ok whitey
Ice Cube really is that nigga you love to hate. kek at this Edgelord.

Bird in the Hand is the realest track

Ice Cube was hilariously mad at everything around that time. That includes hoes.
Nothing will make sense to your American ears.
I've never met anyone who's done "mental gymnastics" when confronted about shit like that. the le cringe hypocritical SJW feminazis you people sperg about constantly don't actually exist
>the le cringe hypocritical SJW feminazis you people sperg about
how did you read that post and assume that i'm a conservative reactionary
She won't see this bro
>sweetie
Aaaand back you should go
By that logic: taking a photo of a woman suffering is misogyny. Who gave you the right to erase the suffering of others from the world?
Make me
Imagine the smell of uncle sam's feet
Kind of like how no one complains about The Weeknd writing songs about drugging and gang banging women.
it's an album, not a fucking documentary. i don't have to accept woman hating anthems as okay just because misogyny is a rampant in the black community, just like i don't have to accept nsbm just because nazis exist.
in what song does he do this
Because it's rooted in reality most and blacks have no filter, and lack self awareness. They understand at the basic level "bitches" are only loyal to status, no status no "pussy/love". Simple as...
>I don't understand why people excuse misogyny in hip hop
Do they? I don't live in America but I've literally never seen anyone defend it on the Internet.
Because zeitgeist martyrs they don't actually care about social justice, only good boy points, and criticizing popular stuff makes you look weird. At least Open Mike Eagle seems genuine
What reality? Black men are terrified of their women. They would never actually talk to them like this in a million years.
