I have adhd and the only time music reasonated differently due to Adderall was when I was 19 and my ex left me for another girl and I started taking more than my prescribed dose of Adderall instants as means of coping with the crushing feelings of jealousy and resent I was experiencing.
Doing that didn't make me "joyful" or euphoric, nor did it give me any of the effects that people get when they take Adderall recreationally. It did, however, affect me in the sense that it made me feel like I was above everybody else, and at worse, just a little maniacal.
For example, I bitched for hours to my friends about how what happened to me was a consequence of the "disposable society" we live in and how my ex wouldn't have left me had "the media not conditioned" him too.
It was also summer when this happened and I was working a really dumb isolating retail job I didn't like at the time. Adderall made time go by much quicker and that's largely why I started abusing it.
Now, what makes this whole story relative to Sisters of Mercy is because while I never
really liked them to the extent of other "Goff" bands like Joy Divison and The Smiths, being
heartbroken while abusing Adderall made
songs like Amphetamine Logic and On The Wire all the more resonating.
I also remember shoplifting from the Sephora my ex's gf worked at, while high on adderall and listening to amphetamine logic on replay.
It was the worst and most absurd and random thing I've probably ever done and the only time I have ever shoplifted, but something about being high on adderall, and
so engrossed in the music I was listening to and dissociated from my actions, just made the act of stealing makeup feel soo right.
Found out about a year later that the lead singer of SoM Andrew Eldritch was a major speed freak and was really shot when he wrote the lyrics on the album.

Adderall should be used for productive work/school purposes ONLY. As soon as you start using addy for recreation, jacking off, etc you'll never use them for good again because you know you can just do that other shit.
