UPCOMING MUSICAL BIOPICS

So this is a thing now.

>RESPECT, Aretha Franklin biopic starring Jennifer Hudson.

>STARDUST, David Bowie biopic starring Johnny Flynn. No big studios picked it up and they couldn't secure the rights to any of Bowie's songs, so the movie will be about the one weekend Bowie created the Ziggy Stardust persona.

>THE POWER OF LOVE, Celine Dion biopic, but it's a VELVET GOLDMINE situation where it's a fictional facsimile, still using her songs, though.

>ELVIS, starring Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker.

>BERNSTEIN, Leonard Bernstein biopic directed and starring Bradley Cooper.

>Bee Gees biopic, potentially starring Bradley Cooper.
>Boy George biopic, and Boy George himself is pushing for Sophie Turner to play him.
>Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet.
>Marianne Faithful biopic starring Lucy Boynton.
>Teddy Pendergrass biopic starring Tyrese Gibson.
>Madonna biopic, done without Madonna's consent. She is vocally against it.
>Michael Jackson biopic from the same producers as BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.
>Carole King biopic, produced by Tom Hanks.
>Bob Marley biopic, produced by his son.
>U2 biopic, pushed by the band itself.
>Amy Winehouse biopic.
>Gucci Mane biopic.
>Bill Monroe biopic.
>Helen Reddy biopic.
>John Lennon & Yoko One biopic.

who actually gives a fuck

GG Allin biopic when?

> >STARDUST, David Bowie biopic starring Johnny Flynn. No big studios picked it up and they couldn't secure the rights to any of Bowie's songs, so the movie will be about the one weekend Bowie created the Ziggy Stardust persona.
Also, Bowie’s own family had no idea about it until it had already gone into production.

DOA.

>U2's Biopic pushed by the band itself.

This is gonna suck shit.

Need an oasis biopic that covers the first two albums just like the documentary.

The bill monroe one could actually be kino

Apparently, Bono does
Wonder how are they gonna scale his big ego to 90 minutes

> they couldn't secure the rights to any of Bowie's songs

Actually is for the better, If i want to see a musical, might as well stick to listen his albums

Get Todd Phillips to do it. He did a great GG doc

>the weekend he created the Ziggy persona
disappointed, just david and lou fucking each other for 30 minutes could save this movie

>No Steely Dan biopic
why is God cruel?

who tf would pay to see any of these

im surprised they aren't doing a nirvana one. nirvana is already relatively big with zoomers, it seems like it'd do really well

MJ biopic better literally just be wacko jacko diddling kids in Neverland

we literally need none of these

Some of these don't need it!

>There will never be an R-rated 4 hour Rolling Stones biopic directed by Marty

>Sophie Turner as Boy George

I'm intrigued by this. Is he actually pushing for it though? Last I heard some sort of producer was laying out casting choices, and mentioned her and George relayed it on a radio station.

Meh, hit me up whenever we get an arthouse biopic about the Velvet Underground

>All these soon to be boring rise to fame shit movies
When are we going to get a good music biopic?

Who says we won't?

Alfie Allen should call dibs.

King Crimson biopic when

This. It can easily be a prequel to the David Bowie one, at least for the Berlin Trilogy

>>BERNSTEIN, Leonard Bernstein biopic directed and starring Bradley Cooper.
kino

>Aretha Franklin biopic starring Jennifer Hudson.
I'm OK with this, unapproved Madonna biopic might be hilarious especially if they really play up what a fucking hack she is. Also there's no way anyone could get Michael Jackson right

A sequel to Supersonic would do the job.

BHN to DOYS?

Boy George could probably still play himself with some extra make up and camera trickery.

>>Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet.
eh, allow me to remain sceptical

I remember reading about a script for a stop motion Michael Jackson biopic but told from the perspective of Bubbles the chimpanzee. That could be fun if it was just an absurdist comedy. A MJ film could be kino, but nobody's gonna risk because you'd never please everyone with it.

Why hasn't someone made a Nirvana biopic yet?
