WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THIS

WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THIS

Smashing pumpkins are literally my favorite band but I have no idea what they’ve been doing past 1998

its all a part of the great Billy Corgan™ masterplan
or at least that's what he believes

Chemicals that turn the freaking frogs gay

That "Woo-!" attitude.

Outside Billy trying to pretend it's still 1997 they seem fine, it's no real different they what they looked or did anyway

if anything, billy corgan actually believes in that shit

rock bands still need to exist because so far humanity has not been able to demonstrate that it's possible to be even a little bit cool after your 20s

that was 2018's pic, get with it fucking pleb

where can I cop a 16th century flemish peasant hat?

william s pumpkins copped the last one, sorry

To cover for the shitty music

still dont understand what happened to darcy

Drugs and unlike Jimmy never recovered from them

they've really been all over the place with what they're doing, i saw them for their 30th anniversary tour in 2018 and it was literally the best concert I've ever seen, then I saw them last year on the promo tour album and it was one of the most boring concerts I've ever seen. i think billy just can't get with the times

I haven't liked anything they've done after the American Gothic EP

I feel like aging really started to hit Billy around the early 2010s. Compare this photo from 2009...

...to this photo from 2013.

Oceania > MTAE > SAOSB > TBK > American Gothic

He looks like a gay porn actor

>literally your favorite band
>haven't kept up with since 98

pick one

bruh

>thinking Monuments to an Elegy is better than literally anything else they've ever done

I don't know how to help you with this. I would also completely reverse your list except place Oceana below American Gothic

SAOSB>OCEANIA>MTAE>American Gothic>TBK

Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts), With Sympathy and Marchin' On are the closest this band has come to capturing some of their old essence since the OGs first split. Anything else is wrong.

rip

wait what i saw them at at Shiny which was great and then The Nights We Stole Christmas - 101WKQX the following year and they played fucking Dross, both shows were great

it's mostly weight gain
he would still look similar/good if he lost about 60 pounds

Actual real answer for OP:

This photo is from the "Machina" period, during which:
>Corgan envisioned a lengthy concept album in conjunction with a musical theater approach to a tour, based around the idea of the band playing exaggerated versions of themselves, as the press and public seemed to view them.[9][10]
>He later explained, "the band had become such cartoon characters at that point in the way we were portrayed in the media, the idea was that we would sort of go out and pretend we were the cartoon characters."[9]
>From there, a story was conceived revolving around a rock star named Zero (based on the public persona of Corgan) hearing the voice of God, renaming himself Glass, and renaming his band The Machines of God. Fans of the band were referred to as the "Ghost Children". [11]

Molyneux, what happened big guy?

what happened to the grill

she was a skinwalker and Billy locked her away

>thinking Monuments to an Elegy is better than literally anything else they've ever done
I was ranking everything from American Gothic onwards. Everything from Gish to Machina is in another league.

Too bad Rick Rubin fucked up the production

Now he looks like Norm MacDonald
