There are plenty of rockstars whose day in the limelight was after Marilyn's, like Jack White (The White Stripes) and Pete Doherty (The Libertines).
Extreme Metal has become so major, that many metal figures are basically rockstars, like Nergal (Behemoth). Same for many indie and punk figures, like Frank Carter (Gallows).
Right now the major music figures who are living the high life are rappers, and I'd argue the "rock" part of being a rockstar isn't that relevant to what the lifestyle actually means. Kanye West certainly lives like a rockstar.
