I've written a short piano piece for a composition contest. Would it be alright if I posted it here for criticism, or is that not a thing you guys do?

Hello /classical/, sorry for the pleb question, is Fidelio good? I didn't know it existed, I only knew the famous symphonies and sonatas of Beethoven

post it. i cant speak for everyone, but i wish more people shared stuff they were working on here.

I mean if your fine with your shit getting traced back to Yas Forums of all places that's your choice

I literally cannot understand the hate towards either.

>Wim Winters is posting a "historically reconstructed" interpretation of Grieg

Does he realise we have actual recordings of Grieg playing his own works youtu.be/J_Ztjt7JuUY
Seriously the comments are from people saying hes playing it faster than modern performances.

I'll give it a detailed listen when I have some time, it looks promising. But for the love of god man, learn how to engrave a score properly.
This is pretty cool, but the melody's rhythm is kind of weird.

Composers are hilariously bad at interpreting their own music.

it sucks. the overtures are the best outcome of this.

Really I find them quite good, it's funny though composers generally play their pieces faster than others they're most comfortable with it.

>why yes I do know better than the composer, this is what he really would have wanted even if he didn' play that way and nothing written in the score suggests he would want this

I post this once and now it becomes the /classical/ anthem wtf

Are there any classical pieces inspired by Zodiac signs?

>Imagine not liking both Liszt and Chopin.
Muh virtuosity (at least not as bad as Alkan)

Take your meds.
