The Birthday Party > The Bad Seeds

Stupid Opinion

Nick is either my favorite or second favorite living songwriter depending on how I'm feeling about Tom Waits. He has like one bad album in his catalogue, and something for every mood whether it's his gritty 80s stuff, theatrical 90s stuff, bluesy mid-00s stuff or more atmospheric 2010s stuff.

It's an opinion any decent angsty nihilist 15 - 22 year old should have, but there does come a time when one must mature into the bad seeds

Based

They're great. Don't need more fans.

Also which album do you consider bad?

Nocturama

One of the most innovative bands of all time, and one of the greatest songwriters. Check out the movies he's scored with Warren Ellis as well, they're pretty good.

Definitely agree with the Tom Waits/Nick Cave tie

I don't like all of his albums, and I basically started to lose interest when Mick left the band but there's a lot to love. Tender Prey is probably my favourite. Grinderman is fun too.

Awesome. Tender Prey/Good Son era is some of the best work i've listened to . Honestly haven't listened to much of his catalogue post-2000 because what I've heard hasn't really clicked, but I'm open to some encouragement of any anons feel like giving it.

A few really amazing top-tier songs, and a bunch of crap that bores the life out of me.

i've met the bassist several times. nice guy.
