Mac hasn't really been rock since Rock and Roll Night Club. Maybe 2. Don't agree he was the only decent one. You could argue that he made the biggest impact as far as how the sound of the decade evolved. He was ahead of the curve of what dominates most 'indie' sound nowadays.

Lot of people hate on him here, but he really is a tastemaker. Some people arent comfortable with that.

Mac Demarco ruined indie rock for a decade. Damn near every indie band after him copied his shitty clean tone and his lazy cigarette barre chord songs. I’ve had to sit through whole fucking shows where not a single band uses a fucking distortion pedal because of this motherfucker. He made the same album like 7 times and everyone bought it up without batting an eye. Truly fuck this pedophile and the “music journalists” that propped him up
