Lol at him wanting to ban octopus garden
yeah some of them probably liked them. don't think their music would be different if they didn't though.
John Cale:
> I mean, everybody was excited about what the Beatles were doing, and after a year and a half of working with drones, it’s great to have a melody to latch onto. And not just any melodies, but the Beatles really had some accessibility to them, some thinking going on, especially in John Lennon Songs.
>Which songs?
>“She Said She Said.”
Fucking based.
Kevin Shields:
>"I was born when they first got big and I was into them since I can remember, really. When I was a kid, I was most into Paul McCartney, and then George Harrison. At that point, John Lennon seemed too weird, too caustic. But by the time I was in my late teens I was like, 'What was I thinking?' I’ve pretty much been a giant John Lennon fan since. The Beatles meant so many different things to me at so many different times. My favorite Beatles albums are Revolver and The White Album."
All of them
>don't think their music would be different if they didn't though
First that no claimed it would so what's your point
Second, do you really want me to believe that the Beatles had no influence in the sound of oasis and ELO ?
>john cale is based again
Not surprising
patrician taste, mr. cale
if the beatles never existed rock music would have died by 1970 and never evolved past chuck berry
This kills the bananafag
Most rock bands would still exist, is what I'm saying.
Unlike what this doofus is saying.
ok grandad
>Most rock bands would still exist, is what I'm saying.
Except that wasn't what you said, you claimed that if the artists I mentioned didn't like the Beatles their sound would have remained unaltered.
Absolutely massive Beatles fans. Covered a few of their songs, quoted a few of their lyrics in their own songs, named their side project "The Glove" after the flying glove from the Yellow Submarine, and went so far as to cut out images from the animated movie and use them on their album cover.
Yes. I do believe that as well. aside from Oasis
Joni Mitchell said that she decided to write music when she listened to Norwegian Wood for the first time.
So you belive that if Elo didn't like the Beatles their sound would remain unaltered?
Here's the album cover in question.
Who are they.
Siouxsie & The Banshees.
British goth rock / post-punk band with psychedelic leanings on their later albums.
Quit spamming these fucking threads.
Probably. there were other bands like Procol Harum that could've had similar influences on them.
You know that when they started they said that "they're continuing from where the Beatles left" right?
No way
weird. then why does The Beatles suck ass and ELO doesn't?
Long, Long, Long was the last music he ever performed live.
Lol, cope harder, I bet you didn't even listen to their whole discography.
Listen to XO, the Beatles influence is undeniable.
