There shouldn't be more new kpop groups for the next few years. There are SO many kpop groups now. One is coming out every week. There's a group for each style/concept/genre/age if that matters/personality!! Why do we need more? I know that sounds like I'm steeping on the dreams of the hard-working trainees, but honestly, I feel that because of the huge number of new groups, there must be an even bigger amount of trainees. And I'm thinking at this point, why? Their wellbeing, treatment, popularity, income is ALL uncertain. Why do young Korean teens STILL want to be idols? I understand that music is a passion for many, but there are other ways of being a musical artist WITHOUT being a typical idol. It looks exhausting and painful, even if they enjoy hours of dance practice and singing/rapping. There's already way too many idols. And I guess you could say "But the American industry has way more, and there's still more to come" The thing about American artists, is that its more freelance. There are record labels, not companies that have a training program. It feels like the music is coming from the artist, from their heart. I don't feel that the music is coming from the idol's heart when I listen to boring stereotypical debut songs. It's unnecessary. It's like they are more in it for the whole "idol treatment" and getting to wear nice clothes and have gullible fans who would fall for their appeal. It's just the same thing now. I don't want more and more of the same boring, repetitive thing. Maybe in 5 years when a company, or heck even an individual independent artist (wouldn't that be cool to see) finally brings something new to the table (and that does not mean a "unique" "noisy" comeback), I will actually think of them as real artists.
