Even if it's not laid out in perfect sentences—is any rap?—you'd have to be an idiot to not at least grasp a few things from these songs. Because it's boring. Good rap should have a balance; it should have something to say, but also send a message--whatever that may be. White people don't get that this overly pretentious stuff is not fun to listen to and only serves to provide circlejerk ammo for being able to say "my music is 'smarter' than yours." And who the fuck cares about that when rap is so much deeper and more dynamic than that. Not to discredit his work, but calling him a genius is a stretch when he misses the point.

I don't disagree. I just hate that a huge number of fans of this side of rap try to discredit or call "brainless" rap worthless. Rap shouldn't be used to flex your intellect, that's missing the point I say. I can listen to Nujabes, DOOM, and the like all day, so I hate to be criticized if I decide that I want to bump Playboy Carti too just as an example.
