Their influence is eternal and sound timeless. They shaped modern music more than anyone else. Music is split into pre and post Beatles era. They will be discussed until the heat death of the universe, much like Mozart and Bach. They are our modern equivalent to these composers and a touchstone of Western civilization. There's always something to talk about.

also beatles and dadrock are top 40 tier, yes. they were top 40 of their time and shit like queen/beatles/zeppelin has been discussed to death and everyone knows it. it may be good sure, but there's so much more music out there that doesn't get exposure. finding a new band or overlooked older band is more interesting than circlejerking the classic rock radio station playlist.
