This thread is to post your work and GIVE AND RECEIVE feedback, criticism, and comments from other Yas Forumssicians.
Quick guidelines:
1. Post a link to ONE track, and if you want, a description. Don't spam your EP, playlist or 20 links. 2. Give feedback to AT LEAST one other person in this thread. NO "recc". Give actual, specific feedback. 3. If you shill and leave without posting feedback, you will be ignored. 4. Do not make another thread until this one dies. 5. Do NOT get mad if someone says your music sucks. Make better music, and take the criticism.
Try to follow each other and like each other's works. The best way to get plays is by building a community. Ignore lazyposting shills, and have fun!

Not technically bad... just felt like it was missing something unique? 19 minutes is also a bit much... especially for this genre... I like the third act and all the weird shit, but it works in spite of the genre. interesting attempt, definite potential.
a little bit bland. sounds like a lot of other stuff i've heard without something to distinguish it. some parts were too loud, even though i know that's what you're going for. with some work it could be a really catchy, good beat though.
The big thing that's coming to mind is the need for complex polyrhythms. Polyrhythms are more important than you beginner producers think. You think"duhh Im st00pid so I du kick one 1 and snare on da 3, yay!" But that's pathetic. Man up and experiment with legitimate beats and rhythms. You should learn about Complex Flow. It's an important aspect to enjoyable beats. Once you man up and start trying to create something great instead of something that will go "viral" (which NEVER do, if that's what you aim for... HA!) But whatever, I can rant to you all day and you'll still be making generic beats. & Keep grindin brohs Your beats are a bit generic and I recognize the Samples. the sample sounds like it was recorded to a MINI-V06.5 440Hz AIVNDAW with a live band going straight on out to the QP and then through a console, and the drums are coming from a drum machine, synth, or stock DAW drum samples, chances are the context won’t make sense, you should always focus on that crispy sound quality bro. In my mind I’m thinking “ok, what can I do to make these drums sound better, like they BUMP to the sample, but still stick out and hit hard?” Bro... Think about it like this, it might mean you have to be processing to the sample, or processing to the drums, or both. And generally needssome experimentation to make it BOOM in the speaker. And also mmatching the space is super key. This isn’t easy, it takes a really ADVANCED ear like mine. But if you can train yourself to listen to the ambience in the sample and recreate that ambience around the drums, but don't get confused. You follow? Next turn up the EQ low end (bass) and ta-da you're better.
soundcloud.com/yunguglybastard/glass-accordian-prod-blank >Punkish Rap / Trap >Loud and Blown Out Bass >Hyper aggressive vocals Hope Y'all Enjoy! All feedback appreciated I'm not listening to 20 min, but I'll listen to the beginningThat introduction was really weak and the mixing is way off. Way too quiet, vox are nearly inaudible. The instrumental is not bad but nothing really special. The singing definitely needs improvement. Just keep practicing. There's a lot of issues but they can be fixed, don't worry user.
thanks for not posting the usual spam, i truly appreciate it. As for the song, I like the atmosphere that's being built in the beginning, but it feels like it should be leading to something. It feels like it's going somewhere, and then kinda stops. The chords are great. I think the voice can actually work well. But the bells are a bit cheesy.
Luis Long
He'll get there eventually, We all have to start small. unluckily for your girlfriend you've stayed small XD Cheesy? Bro cheesy doesn't exist! Maybe it exists for you ironic guys who can't enjoy something without adding ironic distancing, but things that are generally "cheesy" are simply just FUN! Here's what you should really do: -1st buy fl studio, its all you need at 1st -2nd make a kick/snare rythem -invite some producers over to hang out and get them to help geta melody / bassline idea -3rd get some studio time, 4th, get some experienced producers to work with you during your session(s) 5th let them do whatever they want to the song to make it good. 6th DONE! you have a new song you can upload online and start blowing up! You're trying to do jazz but are too scared to listen to my jazz?? LOL bro
I like the use of bells. I don't like the sound of the bells. They sound cheesy. Use a different bell, I would say. This is me, so yes, I am listening to your shit. It's fine.
Connor Anderson
Not really feeling this. Took 10 people? Seriously? Very uninspired.
Feels like you just sampled 5 seconds of a 60's filler track and tried stretching it to 2 minutes. Turn this shit to private, scrap it as a demo, and start fresh.
Really cheap sounding vocal effects. Sounds like a bad Hollywood Undead. Aggressive vocals just sound goofy like you're yelling into a pillow so your roommates don't hear you. Blown out and not in a way that does any favors to the track.
Oh man, Fuck making beats, I can't do that shit at all. I'll leave that to actual producers. I use this one guy pretty frequently, he's called BLANK and he makes some hard hitting bassy beats but he's cut back for now >Really cheap sounding vocal effects Yeah, I made this on my phone lol. Luckily I got a new laptop recently so hopefully im able to utilize it next track >Aggressive vocals just sound goofy like you're yelling into a pillow so your roommates don't hear you. Yeah, the vocals were a bit muffled because the way i mixed was off. The only real part is when the beat cuts off for a second and my line "seeking approval attention like a jailbait cam whore" is played. I also need to practice proper technique for yelling, because i kill my throat RN >Blown out and not in a way that does any favors to the track. Well I respect the take xyddi and you taking the time to listen. I'll keep your feedback in mind and try to improve next time :)
If I'm being honest, you sacrificed songwriting for production. And the production isn't really that good, nor is the beat. I don't mean this in bad faith, I think you can do better.
Yeah, recs are lazyposting. It's fine to recommend someone but as long as you say why
Isaiah Clark
stfu, do you really want "feedback" when it's just people being mean like ?
Christian Thomas
1:15 was my favorite part with the softer instrumental. Separated it from feeling a little generic.
damn dubbi doin jazz? you're blowin me away. Unironically one of my favorite Yas Forumssicians. The borderling scatvox a minute in are great
I like the atonal sections. I haven't heard much like this so I don't have much basis to compare it to but I enjoy it.
I'm excited to hear that track with DMN you're working on.
Also to you two thanks man I appreciate that. It's tough to make music that often has trained stronger vocals but just be idk. I don't have a lot of passion for that.
thanks. it's still a demo kinda, I brought it outta alpha but it's still in beta. Haven't been really feeling motivated enough to finish it but I should. I think more effort on my vocals and putting more into the sections I wanted vocals but didn't might add more structure instead of 6 minutes and then this jump into something entirely different for 10m. I know the beginning guitar is really sloppy too
William Russell
>Unironically one of my favorite Yas Forumssicians is it just me or is there actually more anons who like dubbi than those who hate him? 5 years ago you'd never see someone say they like him.
Zachary Diaz
>people being mean You mean giving their opinion on your track? Yeah, id rather have someone give me their honest trust more than just a circlejerk and a pat on the back
Nicholas King
Well its because he actually has more common sense and logic than a majority of shills. He gives feedback, promotes honesty, and his music isnt that bad
Easton Gonzalez
I was here 5 years ago and I enjoyed him then too Honestly I just enjoy people who don't take themselves too seriously. He's shit on my music plenty and he's praised it sometimes too over the years With some people it bums me out if they say somethin harsh, but I never mind from him
Zachary Nelson
Some of his feedback is good. Some of it is actually just mean without collaboration. Calling something "uninspiring" isn't really a specific criticism that someone can work on. Of course, he doesn't have to do shit, but if we're talking about his actual criticisms, then some of them are good, some of them are uselessly cruel (even if the music truly is shit).
Liam Perez
Well if you got a problem just seethe and sit your ass back down, because truly, nobody cares, get over it
Brayden Perry
I don't care, bro, but if you're going to post shit defending his feedback as genuine, then I'm gonna tell you why he's a faggot sometimes. if you don't care, then don't respond to this post.
