I saw a Death Grips sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said
“Don't look back, you can never look back”
>james blake s/t and xxx behind two meme records
I came here in 2013 and didn’t know it was this epic xD back in 2011
Death Grips at least had a sound I hadn't heard before. Although I don't listen to much hip-hop I'm not sure how original they are. Heard they stole the idea from Dalek but I don't really wanna listen to a grown man named after a robot from a kids show
>Twin Fantasy in 2018 instead of 2011
Fucking retards
Strong 'born in the wrong generation' vibe to this thread.
Top 100 of the decade no repeating artist.
1st runner up: Candy Claws Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time
2nd runner up: Camu Tao - King of Hearts
3rd runner up: The Orb feat. Lee Scratch Perry - The Orbserver in the Star House
Dalek is a completely different thing
Death grips are good, this is a good thing. Take my hand well go together
Oh, thanks. So are DG progenitors of this style or refiners? Are they expanding upon earlier artists? Like I said I don't listen to hip hop so idk how long industrial hip hop has been a thing
I know people like to good on death grips but considering how noise rap has blown up recently (under the unfortunate name "trap metal") I definitely think they had a big influence.
Nobody knows or cares about Death Grips. The previous decade was a joke.
Is any of it any good? Obviously hip hop is the direction music is and has been going in for a while now, but 90% of it is so lyrically and sonically vapid it makes me cynical for the future.
DG actually refined Food for Animals style. To be frank, FFA was way ahead of their time imo. This song 2004 sounds better than most "hard trap" you hear coming out today. DG definitely took production pointers from them, their sporadic electronic production with the more aggressive vocal definition were definitely in line with their vision.
Did you just upload that? If so thank you, you're awesome. Hard to believe that's from 2004, can definitely their sound in DG, will have to listen further, thanks again.
>only Holter album is her worst one
this board has abysmal taste
