Im still working some days in my coffee shop so I've been playing mostly jazz in here. Did some coltrane, a few ecm releases, and a bunch of free jazz and free improvisation because not many people are coming in.
Overall it's either frantic or depressing moods
amazing sax playing and amazing piano playing
Bill Evans is the shit. Been on a fusion jazz kick the past two weeks. Also blasting a lot of Metheny and Ponty.
Trying to get into Ornette Coleman. What are his best besides Shape of Jazz to Come and Free Jazz?
I want to get a Xaphoon but I'm not sure about some things. Any suppliers or cautionary tales I should know about?
Science Fiction
Lmao get a real instrument like a 9 foot Steinway
Lmao get a real instrument like the Boardwalk Hall Auditorium Organ containing seven manuals 449 ranks 337 registers and 33114 pipes and weighing roughly 150 tons
I really love his works, they have that kind of impressionistic feel that makes me travel far in my mind. Explorations, Sunday at the Village Vanguard and Conversations with Myself are among my favourite jazz records. What are yours?
Today I listened to Crescent, by Coltrane, great record. Lonnie's Lament is such a tragic composition, while Wise One feels your heart with its beauty. The title track is spiritually heavy. The whole record feels like it is announcing A Love Supreme. Beautiful.

Latin jazz is really doing it for me.
Id like to get more into Latin stuff. What else do you rec?
I bought this book a few weeks ago.
The arrangements are okay, which of these songs is the best?
Criss cross has been good, and check out Cumbia recordings.
Turn out the stars is a great composition with a really strong melody
I'm listening
tad faster than I expected a trumpet and piano album from cam jazz to be
it's nice, will come back for sure
this is our music and change of the century are very good
Was just listening to this this morning. About as close to fusion as mingus got?
Why didn’t anybody tell me Archie Shepp was so good? He’s like the not shitty version of Pharoah Sanders. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen him posted in these threads.
Strong melody is absolutely necessary to fit well on guitar, I'll try it out.
This is not the first time I’ve seen this record posted in a jazz thread
