I had heard about Yas Forumscore a few years ago and decided today that I'm gonna enrich my music taste. I mostly listen to Hip-hop and have listened to MBDTF several times.
My question to you guys is with which album should I start? I've heard of a few of these album, but never listened to them.
Back to /lit/ with you friend Unironically Neutral Milk Hotel
Eli Cooper
lurk for a few months and stop posting shit like this
Adrian Murphy
Ok Computer was the first "good" (at least 5/10) album in history, so good idea to start there.
John Lopez
Sounds like you need to listen to more music faggot
Benjamin Howard
many people forget one thing we are now used to the fact that good music comes in numerous quantity every year. But back in 1997, there was no good music - OK Computer was the first good album in the history and so the critics went mad. so it was a pioneer in a way, many tried to play music up to that point, but everyone was shit, and then Radiohead came and shown that music can be at least ok
Luke Brooks
Hmm good bait
Alexander Campbell
Yas Forumscore isn't necessarily good music. It's the music most discussed on Yas Forums. Start with appreciated classics, and it would be much better to switch from hip-hop to other genres. Sticking to only one genre of music is the worst you can do to yourself.

I’ll be honest, before this chart I listened to Beatles and other popular all time critically acclaimed stuff, and this chart got me to expand my tastes and now though I still like most of the albums here, there’s stuff that isn’t even on charts and is hidden which I love, it’s a good starting point to broaden your musical horizons
Oliver Jones
I agree with your general sentiment. the earliest released album I like is Remain in Light (listen to this one btw OP), and the first great album I'm aware of was released in 1992
Grayson Moore
my personal taste from that list S tier >STGSTV (not Yas Forumscore, MPP, strawberry jam and even sung tongs are moreso) >Kid A >Exmilitary (TMS and NLDW fit way better as Yas Forumscore) >Untrue A tier >Remain in light (I rate other talking heads albums better) >Spiderland >ITAOTS B tier >MBDTF >American football Just not to my taste tier >ITCOTCK >LYSF >Loveless

Try remain in light, It hits very well if you haven't listened to much music. Then try crimson king, and then kid A. Some easier accessible albums.
Gavin Smith
there are a lot of incredible albums on there but it’s a basic list that most people into music are very familiar with, patrician isn’t the word
Wyatt Reed
>Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon >David Bowie - Low >Radiohead >The Beach Boys >Neutral Milk Hotel
Your friend is a fucking faggot who listened to babby's first introduction to music and thinks he's shit. Spit in his mouth.
Juan Miller
Outdated as fuck list!
Mason Richardson
this isn't the best place to ask for music suggestions buddy
Julian Cruz
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA tell him to fuck off and play him true patrician music, like Michael Jackson’s Bad
Lincoln Taylor
This is a great list to be fair. A lot of good music.
Ethan Cooper
The music is good but it's nowhere near patrician.
excellent starting point but don’t go around saying these are your all time favorite albums without at least digging a little deeper
Adam Hughes
I'd start with Neutral Milk Hotel or Radiohead or maybe the talking heads if you want to use this chart. They're more of the generically "good" albums if you ask me.
Austin Wood
That's a great list, its pathetic the sticks in posters asses, its almost satire the contrarianism in this forum
Colton Miller
A true patrician "knows" every record on this list. The titles themselves bring forth the photographic memory of their covers. He might not have heard every record on the list back to back (no ones perfect) but he's listened to at least 90% and appreciates around 50% of what he's heard. he absolutely loves 10-20% and has taken extra steps to hear other records from the same artists and has uncovered true gems. For going above and beyond the status quo the patrician has become opinionated and has acquired true taste that is his own.
ACCESSIBLE TIER (albums you should have no problem getting into): >spiderland >in the aeroplane >loveless >pet sounds >kid a >remain in light >madvillainy >ok computer >since i left you >ziggy stardust >endtroducing >money store >illinois >heroes >in rainbows >saw 85-92 >merriweather >36 chambers >dark twisted fantasy >the doors >strawberry jam >mm food >donuts >close to the edge >low end theory >illmatic >long season >music has the right >unknown pleasures >pinkerton (the blue album is better fyi) >daydream nation >untrue >dark side of the moon
LOL QUIRKY TIER (albums that may take a couple listens before they start to resonate): >court of the crimson king >velvet underground and nico >lift your skinny fists >pinka moon >low >glow pt. 2 >f#a# >laughing stock >exmilitary >deathconsciousness >geogaddi >spirit of eden >ys >powers that b >neu >sung tongs >to pimp a butterfly
BIG BOY ZONE (true patrician music): >soundtracks for the blind (best album ever made) >to be kind >tago mago >trout mask replica >spirit they’ve gone >the seer
Adam Nguyen
youre gonna have to listen to them all several times eventually, so pick any at random. death grips is the only other vaguely hip hop album on that chart
Tyler Moore
Fuck off swansfag
Blake Bennett
this chart is actually ridiculously outdated, i havent seen discussion of half these albums in a long time
Connor Brown
>STGSTV inaccessible because it has a couple of noise moments to tease you >swans inaccessible outside of the no wave days >exmil, binga moon and TPAB requiring a few listens oh dear oh dear oh dear
Tyler Wright
unironically this start from the greeks and go chronologically
Camden Myers
>My question to you guys is with which album should I start? Start with these.
