Have you listened to the whole thing OP? Teenage Riot is great for people who don't want to get into noise rock.

Teen Age Riot is one of the weakest songs on the album. Why do people dick ride this song so much? How do people not listen to Silver Rocket, the song immediately following it, and not think Teen Age Riot is already blown the fuck out by that noise breakdown?

Then why listen to Sonic Youth? I mean, if anything they're a good band to get into that sort of thing. And sure, they have a few albums like Goo, Dirty and Rather Ripped that veer more towards accessibility - maybe people who only liked Teen Age Riot would be better served by those records. But on the flipside, there's pretty much the rest of their expansive discography as a counterargument that perhaps noise is just a little bit their bread and butter.

Sonic Youth is a shitty band. They just happen to be beloved by New York hipsters.

Eh, it really depends on how you feel about their songwriting. Thurston, Lee and Steve are all extremely talented musicians.
