what's your favorite ambient album /meal/?

based edition friend, thanks for the rec

No problem man, I love deceased and I think they’re the most underrated dm band and one of the most underrated in metal in general. I didn’t bother to link either, I hope nobody else does either, maybe it will slow down a little.

I’m not a fan personally, Deceased and Master were around the same time and imo were much better, but everyone gives Possessed all the credit. Not a bad album though 6 or 7/10

Was not linking and not putting /metal/ a good idea? I’m trying to do what I can to help

Does drone count as ambient? If so, Earth - Phase 3 Thrones and Dominions. Can't wait to finish my time in the military so I can experience drone while on drugs.

OP put /metal/ in the thread title
THIS is that venom prison album that gets spammed?!

I avoided it to try and make it harder for the tripfag, I didn’t link it either

youtube.com/watch?v=sB1tPzhO30A

6/10 not bad for what it is but I wouldn't listen
This is actually pretty based. DragonForce can make anything metal.

Influential but boring

Too late bro, he's descended on us like a fucking herpes outbreak. Better luck next thread.

Second album was better by a large margin.

Bolt Thrower is inherently reddit.

Attached: reddit thrower.png (558x743, 89.3K)

I hate jannies with all my heart

Apropos absolutely nothing at all whatsoever, there was this one time that Children of Bodom covered a Britney Spears song. youtube.com/watch?v=WGtXlBbWeB4

Kinda proves that it's not particularly hard to take some fairly simple music and make it sound metal.

Someone thought it was a good idea to directly link it, oh well, just ignore him.

You shouldn't have made a new thread. The only way we win is by abandoning ship. I'm gonna miss you guys.

SEETHING

>>The cocksucker formerly known as 94366883
So are you gonna apply that term to all the other bands on that blacklist, or are you too much of a coward to accuse Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden of being reddit?

I tried by not titling it metal and not linking either and hoping people would use the catalog but no such luck. Jannies and mods won’t do anything anyway. Best thing is to just not respond to his immature bait.

no metal threads for a month.

we could do a discord but that kinda kills the feel

Which continent didn't you fuck on? And was he the bottom?

I had this discussion earlier on here on whether Power Metal is basically pop music with metal trappings, because you can take pop songs and easily make them power metal. In the end the conclusion was no, Power Metal really is its own style that doesn't translate well to pop music, and you can take any other songs and make it any style as well, even Metallica to bluegrass. Still I think because of the diatonic nature of it and melodic focus there is more in common.

We know he’s european so the best time to discuss may be late american hours, he has to sleep at some point

No because those bands are mainstream as fuck so it's ok if a few faggots like them, their overall fanbase is huge, but reddit thrower is a very niche band and the fact that sóys like them shows who gravitates towards them.

Anyone else think he’s an asshole, even by chan standards?

Yet again, the Americans are the vibrant beating heart of this general.

Asked this in the previous thread but I didn't realize it's dead: Are there any other Doom bands that have a really good tone like the one on Dopethrone? That fucking fuzz combined with the speed the play at on funeralopolis is amazing.

Just ignore him. If we isolate him like a COVID-19 infested corpse, he will eventually leave.

The gates of slumber, a delicacy from my state

Did you post some anime metal in the last thread or did my eyes decieve me?

Attached: 1285177.jpg (1536x2048, 642.21K)

who wouldve thought rebecca black would be super hot

Stop responding to him for fucks sake

Best country for metal too

I reposted it from some user but then I deleted it when I realized the vocals were actually pretty shit and it wasn't as good as the instrumental parts were, so not really recommendable.

youtube.com/watch?v=sB1tPzhO30A [

Is actually good though.

>Talk shit get hit faggot.

Holy shit the pre-1st album Peel Session for bolt thrower is so good
But their LPs dont do it for me at all
Any recs like that first peel session
This is gonna sound stupid but the bass in Repulsion - Horrified gives me that vibe

The vocals are more like traditional heavy metal, but those fucking guitars youtube.com/watch?v=HZrm-03aQXw

Oh yeah man, they fucking rip, they got back together too and did a small european tour, hoping they’ll play some local shows and maybe do a us tour. You like em?

>TFW I've never actually listened to a single Peel session with any band

How much am I missing out bros?

Holy shit nigga

Are there other trad or trad doom bands with such a guitar tone?

Attached: 07c70df98fcbbc6dcdb26a7b13969144.jpg (419x444, 27.74K)

based

Gonna listen to their discography some more. The only thing putting me off is the vocals. I might get use to them though.

Dio got together with Black Sabbath and made a pretty doomy album. It doesn't have quite as much bite though youtube.com/watch?v=QMQAKbrWhoI

post underrated albums

wretchdoom.bandcamp.com/album/wretch

This was the successor band to the gates of slumber. If you want more check out Indiana doom metal bands, many sound like this but the gates of slumber are like the main one.

RESPIRATORY AILMENTS, SUFFERING CRIES
A NERVOUS AFFLICTION, ANOTHER VICTIM DIES
youtube.com/watch?v=yfgqWkgImq8

They’re one of the only noteworthy metal bands to come out of indiana so I always like to recommend them since they’re still kinda a cult classic band

wretchdoom.bandcamp.com/album/wretch

This band is/was the successor band to them and it’s a good album

Not quite what you're looking for, but I always thought that Cathedral had a great guitar tone. youtube.com/watch?v=JKV7WUM-Ots

Attached: serveimage.jpg (1200x1200, 408.59K)

For me it's Black Future.

Attached: a1734403304_10.jpg (1000x1000, 465.28K)

Probably my favorite album of all time. Other bands prob have better songs in their discography than this, but this is my favorite album front to back. The CD version even has some bonus demo shit that's amazing.

Attached: ArtAndMusic.jpg (600x600, 146.04K)

It pains me that Heaven and Hell has mostly been forgotten. As far as old school metal goes, they were one of the hypest things to happen in the 2000s. Seeing them open for Judas Priest blew my teenage mind back in the day. I think The Devil You Know is probably the second best album that Sabbath every did with Dio.

thanks frens

Time to shill my favorite doom band that never went anywhere.

Attached: GOAT_Horn.jpg (500x500, 73.8K)

looks like he got banned

Ozzy absolutely hated the idea of Dio playing with Black Sabbath and pretty much did everything in his power to bury the reunion. Such as suing them unless they changed the band name. He also broke them up during Dehuminizer by teasing the idea of a reunion with him and Black Sabbath be reneged on it.

I thought so once too. Then he came back six hours later.

Depends
Some bands have discog-best performances, some just do OK
Check out the Earache “Grind Madness at the BBC” comp, Napalms and Extreme Noise Terror steal the show

The Rest in Piece song isn't really doing it for me.

Candlemass - Tales of Creation.

Nightfall gets all the attention and Epicus is overrated but this one is a great concept album and the rerecorded and faster Under the Oak sounds great.

>Ozzy being a butthurt faggot again
what a shocker
