I loved ITI as much as anyone when i discovered it, but going back to it now ita just bland, still fucking great, but just to familliar. Shit sucks. This is a great new strokes record so yes, i prefer it to ITI
I just finished my 2nd listen, still lives up to the hype.

Sorry, but no.
Is This It is a once in a lifetime album, there’s no point in comparing it to any other.
Measured against the rest of their discography, this is at the same level as Room on Fire. Even a little bit higher I’d say, but we should wait to see how it ages to confirm it. The only record that aged like milk in the Strokes’ discography is First Impressions, so I can picture this one standing the test of time.
I wouldn't go that far but it's their best since Room on Fire, which is still impressive.
wether you like the songs or not Julian's singing on this is amazing.
Never been a big fan of The Strokes, but it always brings joy to my heart when an artist supposedly past his prime releases a great record. It happened with Weezer and the White Album, to name one.
Julian is in his prime right now, he's more experimental than he ever was before.
This. The Voidz are the best thing he ever did, by far.
I love The Voidz but Is This It is clearly the best thing he ever did.
That stupid barking finally clicked and Why Sunday’s became my favorite after the fifth listen.
Nah, too derivative. The Voidz actually sound fresh. Human Sadness is the best thing he ever touched.
I really do not understand why Is This It is so loved. Room on Fire is the same album but better.
The best Strokes album is First Impressions of Earth.
Bold statement. Care to elaborate on why you think that?
Im a huge /strokesbro/ but tyranny's on another level on his pretty amazing entire discog
this just confirms the strokes are for girls and gays
This will be Strokesfags answer when fantano trashes the record
She might be 87% retarded, but I would definitely give her some strokes, you know what I mean fellas
I dont get it.
:o
Love this man
Not a weak track on the album. As good as you could hope for

Who would have thought they'd be making passe 80s synth-rock?
Their previous two attempts were better; this album just sounds dated already.
>passe
don’t you realize that’s redundant? are u stupid or something? not judging
where is the redundancy? 80s synth rock isn't passe by virtue of itself.
Yes it is, dummy
bands like new order aren't passe, they aren't in the zeitgeist of popular music but that doesn't alter their popularity and acclaim
I could take the argument that bands like falco definitely are.
absolutely agree, thanks for pointing this out
