All of Radioheads albums are amazing, but the bends is one of the most bland and boring rock records I've heard, and yet its considered one of their best. How the fuck
All of Radioheads albums are amazing, but the bends is one of the most bland and boring rock records I've heard...
not a single bad song on it
Guess you just don’t like it. Nothing wrong with that, everyone has different tastes.
Street Spirit is the only good song for me
Of course but Its just this "legendary" status this record has that boggles me
>durrrr where are the bleep bloops. ablum cant be gud if it have no bleep bloop.
It's a perfectly crafted alternative rock album. The band create an immensely dark and bleak atmosphere while using only traditional rock instrumentation, accentuated with keyboards eg. on Planet Telex. And the "three-guitar assault" they used in this era, with Thom, Jonny and Ed all playing guitar, creates some spectacularly noisy songs that they haven't really made anything like since.
Not even Fake Plastic Trees, Planet Telex, Just and My Iron Lung? All of these are perfect alt rock songs
There's nothing particularly dark or bleak about The Bends aside from Street Spirit. It's probably their most emotionally lukewarm, mild-mannered album. Coldplay with slightly more pathos.

I genuinely don't think you're listening properly. In pretty much every track, behind the guitars, there are these sparse sprinklings of keyboards and Ed's guitar noodlings which contribute to creating this "dark atmosphere" across the album.
Tracks that best describe what I mean:

Idk if I'm the only one who hears it, but it's a bleak album to me. High & Dry is the only song on there that sounds "bright" or "happy" at all, probably because it was a Pablo Honey outtake.
This album is perfect for driving on a gloomy day
I like Pablo Honey and The Bends. Fuck the haters.
>All of Radioheads albums are amazing
Stopped reading here. Radiohead have 2 good albums and that is it. Everything from In Rainbows on is uniformly atrocious.
Not Really, Just is okay but the rest is still boring
Imagine getting filtered by AMSP
>All of Radioheads albums are amazing
>I don't like [album by Radiohead]
choose one
side note: all but two of their albums are mediocre 5-6/10's. the two good ones are TKOL and AMSP, both 8/10's
>ur a contrarian
I listened to their discography and came to this conclusion before finding out that TKOL is their most hated
>ur lying/shitposting
I'm being completely genuine here. OKC and KA are fine, but I'd unironically prefer to listen to the other two instead. the rest are meh
>Blackstar, Bones, Nice Dream, Bulletproof, Just, Planet Telex, High and Dry
>no bad songs
all of those are great melodies
>Street Spirit is the only good song for me
I have that exact same opinion on The Bends. All the other songs are extremely boring and corny, both in terms of vocals and instrumentally.
Even Pablo Honey had more enjoyable moments.
(Nice Meme)
Based
You can't be older than 15 years old
you're actually pretty close to reality. I'm 20, and I binged the Radiohead discography when I was 15. I did it again a year later when AMSP dropped to make sure my opinion didn't change (it didn't), and then again last year (it still hasn't)
side note: calling someone who disagrees with you underage, a zoomer, a boomer, etc isn't a compelling argument
Epic.
The Bends is actually their worst wtf
Filtered
And pretty new using this platform too
nothing this band has ever done is 'legendary' to anyone except pseuds
>calling someone who disagrees with you underage, a zoomer, a boomer, etc isn't a compelling argument
It is. It has been proven time and time again that people of your generation (24 and under, the zoomer generation) do not have full mental capacities. You are the generation raised on the internet and your brains were turned to mush from having free unmonitored online access from elementary school ages. You are literally not capable of even thinking about music in the same way previous generations could do. You are mentally and emotionally stunted.
calling someone a newfag also isn't a compelling argument. stop acting like a nigger
you're conveniently ignoring that zoomers were born well before the internet was commonplace. I personally grew up in a house without internet until I was 13. the generation that actually deserves this criticism is gen alpha, which was born with an iPad in its hand
>ITT: retards being filtered by one of Radiohead´s most accesible albums
the absolute state of this fucking board
im a zoomer and i literally had my own personal laptop since i was like 6
my point wasn't that no zoomers grew up with internet, it was that it's not universal among the generation
Radiohead is and always will be the most overrated musical act in the history of recorded music.
odd way to spell The Beatles
