bumping with my last comment for people still interested in more OO
Hollandaze was their first album and its fucking awesome, mostly like this. Hard Boiled, Soft Boiled (their second album) is a better album but the first half (Hard) is like industrial and noise rock while the second half (Soft) is really dreamy and spacey. All their newer stuff is mostly along the industrial electronic path.
Here is the collection of Sweet Trip's loosies and compilation appearances, including tracks from the band members' Soundclouds. Thanks nice shugazi general user! >mega.nz/#F!IARWmKwZ!aOq1lE1wyUDVcTtNzl8bSw

Good Projects from 2019 recced by shugazi people. Gotta add a few more from recent threads as well 2020 List in progress. What have you guys enjoyed so far?
>Enjoy a lot of the music that directly inspired shoegaze >Not that big of a shoegaze fan
Am I weird? The only shoegaze bands I can really say I love are Kitchens of Distinction and My Bloody Valentine. Every other band I've tried hasn't stuck with me. Sure they havethe occasional good song but it doesn't capture me, yet I fucking love trippy, dreamy post-punk from the 80s like pic related.
Kind of the opposite of what you're asking so this is probably going to be a shit recommendation but you ever listen to Alcest? Their first album in particular may be up your alley, though again it's not post punk in the slightest. Niege is a big fan of The Chameleons, you can definitely hear the influence come through in some of the guitar work throughout the Alcest discography.
Based album pick by the way, that's my favorite Chameleons record
Jack Sanchez
Based. Great record. Haven’t listened to it a while.
Must be one of the shittiest ''shoegaze'' albums of all time. Has absolutely no qualities in my opinion. No melodies, just noise for the sake of noise.
