is this Archers of Loaf?

Seriously, stop.

Endless summer

>d-d-don't you touch m-my precious Strokes! im hoping Cindy The Art Hoe notices my Strokes vinyl collection :(

adults are talking

>projecting
Cope, seethe, dilate, etc.

No one cares about your shitty band, retard

>memewords
ok. yawn.
anyway Icky Mettle is a pretty good record but i don't remember a track called Ode to the Mets

Not the Same Anymore sounds like a slowed down Cursive - The Recluse youtube.com/watch?v=6EeQNmGknak

For me it's The Adults are Talking and At The Door

>poor man's Pavement
Get the fuck out with this trash, we are talking about the based poor man's Tom Petty here.

>based
just had to throw in the memeword didn't you

Yes and what are you gonna do about it?

i liked not the same anymore

...

Agreed.

I think the production of the whole album was tight.

Why are Sundays so Depressing is also very very good

JESUS THIS IS TOO GOOD FUCKKKKKKKK
what's the name of that song that's goes dep in the 80s vibe? my god it makes so much sense in the album
lads what is HAPPENING

for me, it's the new abnormal

>drums please, fab
Julian, you're fucking 41. Stop with the hipster shit

This whole reply is cringe.

Archers of onions is more like it

if it weren't for the panning on the left, I would absolutely love it. That part just feels so out of place upon each listen.

You're trolling right? The drummer's name is Fab.

>the Mets

No shit. Putting the line in the song is irony bro shit.

>only $60 at urban outfitters?! woweee!

fantano spotted on ig with his red flannel, I assume he’s about to shit on this one

I love this song but what's with the name? It isn't about baseball at all or is it?

Is this how you want to live?

it actually is because of the mets losing or some shit. a team that Jules followed in childhood which is now less than it used to be. being past your prime, that's what i get from the song

OHHHHH CAUGHT IN A BAD ROMANCE

lmao that chord progression is in so many songs, especially Julian's. Doesn't matter to me it sounds great every time

He explains the reasoning for the name in the podcast he did with the bandmates yesterday, and it's basically this

Why did they have to put that fucking synth intro on the last song, fucks up the vibe of an otherwise perfect song

I like it nigga fuck you

I've listened once so far and I'm about to listen again
I enjoyed it overall with my highlights (in no order) being:
The Adults Are Talking, At The Door, Ode To The Mets, Eternal Summer, Not The Same Anymore.
It's their 3rd or 4th best all time for me - maybe slightly better than First Impressions but I can't say for sure YET.

STROKES ALBUMS POWER RANKINGS
>Is This It?
>Room On Fire
powergap
>The New Abnormal
>First Impressions of Earth

>Nobody likes Bad Decisions
Am I missing something here? I like Ode and ATD more but decisions is better than endless summer in my opinion

repeating the angles is bad meme :-?

Am I only one who thinks the live version of Ode is way better than the studio? the studio one seems kinda rushed and that little bridge before the outro (when Julian screams hey mr lightman) is missing for me

It just my first listen tho

No, Ive seen multible niggas say this shit, I like both versions.

not the same anymore would like a word with you

Is This It > Room on Fire > The New Abnormal > Comedown Machine > First Impressions of Earth > Angles.

Angles is such a pleb filter

>Mest

>album is actually good

can't believe it but they actually did it

Julian has to be in charge for a Strokes album to be good. I like the rest of the band too but Julian is the best songwriter there by far.

Just listened to the album, it lives up to the hype.

this but switch first impressions and comedown

I respect your opinions because I actually enjoy all their albums. :)

me too but i have the correct order

why is everyone on aol's dick right now? is it some kind of viral marketing thing? i used to think they were just a cool band from a town near me but i guess theyre really popping off

As of my first listen to TNA:

ROF > ITI > angles > TNA = FIOE ≈ Comedown

My problem is that TNA sounds too similar to Virtue, and it sounds like another voidz album. I was hoping for more of a strokes album. Either way, TNA will get better with each listen, and itll grow on me.

It doesnt sound like Virtue at all

>The silence that you're hearing
>Is turning into
>A deafening, painful, shameful roar

Honestly, better than I thought it'd be. Will give it another go tomorrow.

Bad Decisions is catchy af but it's been out the longest I think

Albert can write pretty decently (see his solo albums), but Nick’s are a bit shit going by CRX

*listens to Why Are Sunday’s So Depressing with left earbud out*

Ahhh, much better

Albert trying to be as cool as Julian comes off as cringey

They ripped that melody from Clairo

Albert is the Strokes' biggest fan
in their new podcasts it shows he knows about the most songs. the others couldn't remember a song from comedown machine

try fucking harder, there's a gajillion songs by julian that have the same progression as sofia, most of which came out years before the song. ode is not one of them

10/10 record saving rock AOTD fuck all yall haters
