Jason Becker
Jeff Baxter
Gary Moore
Alex Lifeson
Neil Young

Dave Mustaine
Matt Heafy
Chuck Schuldiner
Tommy Emmanuel
Ewan Dobson from YouTube lmao

good to see Mustaine popping up so much. he might be a cunt but god damn can he fucking riff

>Ewan Dobson
I like him, too. Time 2 is a banger, but his other stuff is also quite nice.

>Shields
>Page
>Homme
>Kim Salmon
>Mitch McDonald from a local band called the Love Junkies who really need to make more music ASAP

kurt cobain
thurston moore
brian may
buzz osborne
jimi hendrix

Buzz is underrated.

>popular bad
>obscure good
You don't listen to music, you just wear it on t shirts

Gonna go for some atypical choices.
I still love a lot of the classics, but for variety
I used to be real big into solo guitarists and shredders and all that and I still enjoy but I've found I really enjoy the less lead-stuff a lot more.

>Isaac Brock
Modest Mouse
is one of my favorites for example.
2:45
4:40
the fucking ENERGY is ridiculous in both.

>Jesse Lacey
Brand New

Another example, not a very accomplished guitarist but something about the energy in how he plays comes out so much stronger to me than a lot of the notes he plays.
Billy corgan isn't a favorite but similar reasoning from him. Mayonaise is amazing though.

>Kaoru/Die
Dir en Grey

I just feel like there's so much more to their playing that they hold back, they can go absolutely wild but they still do what's best for the song and don't wank.

>Jenn / S
Carissa's Wierd

She has a really weirdly unique lofi sound, this is late 90's early 00's output
I'm just really impressed by the genuine feel of her music.
It's sloppy but I adore it.
It just feels so raw and completely her own style.
I can't name another guitarist who sounds like this and it's not a gimmick style of playing or anyhting. Just hers. I think that's an extremely special and important quality

>Daniel Gildenlow
Pain of Salvation

4:00 just did some of the catchiest odd time signature stuff.
I just think that kind of stuff is cool when it's done well.
And the guitar tones near the end at 5:00
Amazing ringing distortion on a pretty clean guitar.
Just such a comforting guitarist.

Lindsey's undderrated, his energy when he plays live is beautiful.

great choices

john petrucci may wank all the time but when he does it right, he does it really damn right. He's made some way beautiful melodies

Ritchie Blackmore
'80s Gary Moore
Steve Lukather
Paul Gilbert
Eric Johnson

Honourable mentions to Michael Schenker, George Lynch, John Norum and Ronni Le Tekro.

I'm not gonna argue with anyone who likes Lynch.
