Anti-Romantic posts are discovered Aggressive German nationalists not allowed (as well as other) Rec more obscure composers and pieces If you want to discuss something popular (i.e. Beethoven's symphonies) do it a manner that will drive a discussion forward rather than going off on tangents about who needs to have sex or kill themselves Autism and contrarianism to be ignored Scriabin posting encouraged.
Scriabin is just a proto-Sorabji (who was actually based). Change my mind
Luis Baker
They are both based af.

I hear a lot of Rachmaninoff in 70's Hard Rock music like Deep Purple for some reason. Anyway he is based and I got completely destroyed when my piano teacher gave me one of his pieces to learn.
Christopher Lee
This is pretty darn dark, is it in the key of C Minor?
Jack Williams
>Sorabji was dismissive of the Classical style, mainly because he saw it as restricting the musical material to conform to a "ready-made mould",[138] Dropped
Hudson Phillips
Nice piece, thanks for sharing.
Jaxson Lewis
Just getting into opera, what are some on youtube that you guys like?
I got the Zimmerman version but man, no clue whether it's the tuning of the piano or the mic or the player but her version sounds a lot better. Just the shitty live version got motherfuckers coughing and ... that's not great.
Why are the very best composers invariably always English? Just what is it about the English phenotype that leads them to consistently blessing the world with the most beautiful pieces of art known to man?
1. Did composers mostly write in their head or is that a myth and did they write mostly at the keyboard? Reddit tells me Mozart composed mostly at the keyboard
2. If one does not have perfect pith is it possible to develop relative pitch to be able to compose in their head if they're in their late teens?
3. What exercises can one do to develop this?
Christopher Thompson
They didn't have keyboards in Mozart's day because electricity hadn't been invented then xx
Tyler Stewart
most composers write at the keyboard. though many can come up with ideas and think through them even when they're away from it. beethoven used to take walks to generate ideas for pieces, then took them home and worked on them at the piano.
yes, although your musical potential generally stabilizes when you're 9. most people can generally reach a pretty high level of relative pitch with some training even if they never had formal training until adulthood.
learn to sight sing, transcribe music, learn theory
Jaxon Bell
sorabji was gay half-indian
Parker Torres
opera sucks, I'm sure it was pleb entertainment back in the day
Logan Fisher
True t b h.
Caleb Perry
that would have to be german, I'm jealous but it's just a fact
Joshua Torres
sorry, best composers are Czech.
Aaron Morales
he should get back in the cotton field, and the women should get back in the kitchen, liberalism is what ruined classical music
Austin Wilson
>English composers >good The only good English composer is Sorabji and he's a fucking Indian.
Leo Walker
england: gays, indians, niggers, women the wrong side won the war
Leo Sanchez

Dylan Reyes
I'm serious
Caleb Myers
Elgar and Vaughan Williams are generally regarded by all classical music experts to be the two greatest composers of all time. Third and fourth place are up for debate, but opinion is pretty unanimous on the top two
