Nice taste OP, Carpathian Forest really is god-tier.
One of my favorite metal albums. Changed my life as far as what sounds I thought metal could explore.
8/10 love Carpathian Forest. Check out Aura Noir- Hades Rise if you haven’t already. Similar kinda thrashy black metal sound
This one’s not nearly as obscure but fuck I just love Converge so much. Jane Doe is an obvious 10 but this one’s underrated. Last Light just might be their best song
3/10 sorry man I actually personally hate this record. It’s so woke and cringeworthy with the awful vocals and all
8.5/10 the best Voivod record, good taste. Actually discovered them from Guitar Hero 2 back in the day lol
As far as new black metal goes, highly recommend this one. Traditional recording but very creative and enjoyable writing. It’s fantastic
Opps
>implying şoiblack metal is better and less cringe
>talks about vocal quality when posting BM
>Listens to Converge.
Listen to some real Metal user, I recommend it.
Damn, still need to listen to that one but WGMHF is 8/10 for me, love it
7/10 I dig it, but they are definitely very indebted to Dillinger and Deftones, guys like that
>real metal
don't embarrass yourself with that kind of rhetoric user. But ya obviously some black metals better, some is worse too and plenty of it is cringe but some isn't, that's how genres work
Black Metal peaked in the late 80's. Try some good Trasd Metal, the best kind.
Who's disagreeing, Bathory is one of my favorite metal bands.
Am i doing it rite massa?
What's wrong with Converge, you little twerp?
Sign of the Black Mark by Bathoy
Was kind of tied between this one and Hammerheart. Both excellent albums nonetheless
Ngl I haven't heard this album yet, but I have listened to Morbid Tales. Will check this one out
put this on my wishlist, digging the album cover
There have to be pro watercolor painters that make a living purely off of designing specifically metal album art
I'm a Black Mark fan all the way, I think it's by far their magnum opus. But obv all their shit is good
Moonsorrow are a cool band man, I liked that one record they did in 2016 but haven't heard this one yet
>Giving me shit
>hasn't heard one of the essential 80's metal records
just kiddin, let me know what you think of it
I haven't listened to Bolt Thrower in a fucking minute. Good call.
Noted, will check out
Absolutely based user
This is peak prog metal
I adore Bathory and this album, but I gotta say twilight of the gods is their best work
TTND and WGMHF are their two best albums for sure, with Spirit the Earth Aflame right after
Converge is le edgy sadfuck music.
based dead
Should be more than fitting for you, then.

It’s never a bad time to listen to Bolt Thrower. Never
>during your wife’s labor for your child?
Great time
Let me know what you think. You on RYM?
Fuck, I did not like this album. Similar to some Obscura’s stuff, just really bland with hamfisted lyrics and vocals that don’t match up well to the instrumentals. Imo obviously but that’s a 4/10 from me
Opeth gets a lot of pretentious people that disregard them because of their success, when they’re really just a great band. That being said, Ghost Reveries never really hit for me like their earlier more aggressive works(Blackwater Park is my fav of theirs)
Just listened to TTND, and I actually prefer Greater Men. I think it had more dimension. TTND is solid but some of the songs are clearly built on a singular idea that doesn’t go anywhere, while Greater is a lot more progressive.
Woah user you do realize you’re on a public forum right? This is really gonna hurt your cred
Mayhem is a great band at their best, but downright sorry at their worst
What a great artwork
Mayhem's newest release was a comeback, best since DMDS.
Ghost Revieries feels like the perfect mix of death metal and prog rock to me, I love every song on there, Harlequin Forest and Ghost of Perdition being standouts
Coverge sucks user
Unnecessary but fully welcome post
8/10 really liked this record
As far as Mayhem, I’m the worst but I haven’t around to the new one, I need to do that. I just realized their last piede of garbage before that isn’t even on spotify which is hilarious
While Anata consistently has shit cover art, they’re actually a very consistent artist
Anyone here peeped this beauty?
Good Mayhem albums:
>Deathcrush
>Live in Leipzig
>DMDS
>Wolf's Lair Abyss
>DMDS Alive
>Daemon
Okay Mayhem albums
>Grand Declaration of War
>Esoteric Warfare
The rest are pretty shit
never heard of it
I have no issues with this list other than DMDS being way above the rest
It’s metal with baritone sax playing a key role instead of guitars. Really entertaining and unique album, and a lot fun too in a weird way
Great thread. Lots of stuff I need to check out later
Awful take
Ok Nilefag
Great album
>too clean for /meal/
>too heavy for /prog/
This is my favorite album, where do you all land on it?
Fuck me, forgot the picture.
>their
name a better death metal album
>doesnt accept mediolanum capta est is the most based live album
There are at least four better death metal albums itt alone.
*ahem*
There are at least four better Death albums alone

>god tier metal albums
