No, but I prefer We Live.
You didn't specify "stoner doom" specifically, so yeah quite a few are better I'd say
Yeah. Most of them are.
pic not related? because candlemass is absolute dogshit compared to electric wizard
Good opinion that I agree with.
Agreed, Candlemass is overrated.
Is there any other record with production as heavy and sludgy as this? The next best thing I've found is Snailking by Ufomammut, has that crushing but psychedelic production which I think is the peak of the stoner doom sound.
Bongripper - Hate Ashbury & The Great Barrier Reefer
Thanks, I've actually avoided Bongripper for a long time, I listened to them several years ago and found it kind of boring, sounds quite different to me now. Very nice.
cringe vocals
i mean, satan worshipping doom is even better than what you've mentiond. my persronal fav from them is Hippie Killer tho because it also has some postrock/metal tracks/influences and is not a doom record from head to head.
for your convenience
nice tourist garbage
SLUDGE > DOOM
Probably, but that won't stop this from being GOAT.
yes its we live by them
Right? This is clearly the best.
Hope you don't get B& for posting that cover, but Witchfinder General is GOAT!
Yes.
I agree candlemass is top tier these fags don’t know what they are talking about

thanks. but you know I'm right tho
based
you are but let's stick to discussing doom in this thread
pentastar by earth
for me sleep's holy mountain is on the same level as dopethrone. other than that dopethrone is top tier.
hell yeah dude i love pentastar. i still reckon dopethrone is better but man that record rules
Dopethrone is definitely one of the best, but I do like Saint Vitus even more than them. I also really like the death-doom genre, and there are some cool, if slightly cheesy bands, like Novembers Doom. Also, idk how strict you are about the term doom, but if you include slow sludge bands in the genre, then I'd have to give the top spots to bands like Eyehategod and Crowbar.
Crowbar's based af
electric wizards first album is just as good as dopethrone if not better
I only enjoy 13th Sun. Don't like other Candlemass I've heard.
the shit mix ruins it
Best EHG?
Never heard anything I liked much.
you need to be on a heroin binge to 'get' it
Dopesick might be their strongest. But because so much of their stuff is so abrasive, I actually think the singles are the best place to start. Try these:

lol they are obviously a very druggy band, but I'm actually very anti-drug. But they are very much a band for feeling like shit. They're one of my favorite bands because I honestly find their sound very beautiful, though. They have this heavy, melodic, bluesy core, vocalist Mike IX's delivery is very expressive. I could never relate to their druggy or southern themes, but I always loved their sound so much that I just kept coming back to them.
I don't think it's that, I think my ears just tell me it's punk, which I kinda hate save ETID.
I recommend giving them another try just because I really like them, and I do recommend starting with their catchier songs, like I mentioned here: That said, there is a very punk element to their sound. Their concept when they started was that they wanted to sound like if Black Sabbath was a punk band.
If you're interested in this basic type of music, though, I might recommend trying Corrosion of Conformity, who are more accessible, or Crowbar, who are more traditionally metal.
whats wrong with the mix?
I'll give em another chance. Already a big Crowbar fan.
Mikes voice makes everything better

Cool stuff, hadn't heard this!
it's him, Scott Kelly of Neurosis and some other guy from a band called Yakuza.

this one's p cool too

>nobody posted Black Sabbath
shame on yall faggots
kidding me? they're alright, but the genre has moved on and evolved after they stopped.
they are nothing more than an influence
the debut album is literally the mother of MUH doom/stoner/sludge.
yea, just an influence on the newer bands who evolved the genre into a dredging, stumbling, dreary monster it is now
