Lisitsa is posting her cycle of Beethoven piano sonatas on her YouTube. Very cool.

You know why I love my twelve-tone method so much? I can notate rows with the twelve distinct letters that make up my name.

no

Something that isnt by autistic Germans

What are some essential works from the transition period between Renaissance and Baroque? And/or late Ren/early Baroque stuff.

My library seems to be missing a chunk of music history between like 1590 and 1670 and I want to fill that out.

Sweelinck
Froberger
Schutz

Nice thanks mate. Any recommended works from them? I shouldn't have a problem finding them myself but it helps to have a starting point.

Monteverdi

Mozart youtu.be/pOMiig2b-VE

His Vespers of 1610 is actually the only piece I have from that period, in my collection. What are some of his other pieces worth checking out?

The onoy composer that I have never seen insulted in these threads

Attached: schubert.jpg (108x144, 2.98K)

Honestly his music is consistently quite good and I have genuinely nothing bad to say about it. It is tasteful, creative, well assembled and generally flawless.

What does /classical/ think of George Benjamin?
Any recs?

Well, there's been a "Schubert was a 2nd rate early Beethoven" meme going around lately. Although it's most likely one guy.

Attached: George.jpg (1059x1497, 182.95K)

Leoš Janáček is amazing.

Nielsen's Aladdin.

He's one of the few composers I confidently put in god-tier desu.

>impying Vivaldi is underrated
Vivaldi's Spring is top five most recognizable Classical pieces of all time.

Because Classical is filled with a bunch of unemotional sociopaths who only listen to /Classical/ for Intellectual points. Also plebs but that's a given.

cause he is /our/ guy.

youtube.com/watch?v=ix963BEo7HQ

same, great music.

Overplayed-underplayed is a different dimension.

heh, maybe. A lot of composers are very underrated, personally I think Berlioz is super underrated.

Is listening to highlights considered bad?

Attached: 2.jpg (1080x4430, 560.4K)

As long as you're experiencing the music of Khachaturian? Nah, Khachaturian is good in any form.

Listening to a whole opera without the visual elements is dumb

this must be the CEO of pleb

Post your top 3 of all time, judge each other and give recs.
