I like this a lot. Cool use of a descending progression. You did it in a way that doesn't sound cliche. Good job. Nice vocals. Cool suplemental instrumentation. I listened to 'grain'. Talk about abrasive. Very cool dude. I like the low pitched synth especially.
>song about being a teenager >filled to the brim with nostalgia >unashamed pop-punk, teen-rock or whatever you wanna call it >uplifting despite the time that's passed
>melodic future bass >old school Adventure Club vibes >progressive/alternative >emotional
Hey guys! Just put up a new track since I'm on an absolute inspiration streak right now. Would love to hear what you think of this as I really feel like I'm stepping my game up with these releases. I'll also be happy to return any feedback or interactions on Soundcloud :)
>fat 808s Fucking based, I love me some 808s. Good beats and music but the chipmunk vocals are a little off putting. Did you sample Day Of The Dead for RICH AS HELL? The melody sounds a lot like the score from that.
With the tracks we produce, like parents, we're not supposed to have favorites; also like parents, we can't help it when we do, as is the case here for me with this selection from my catalogue:
It's entitled "J.D. LUVCRAFT [PHILLED WIT VICE], and is named in tribute to Dilla, from whom many samples were derived, and Lovecraft, who provided the vibe. Have fun.
Definitely boost your bass. Do you need help? You need to Learn how to boost your bass. I can help you out quite a bit if you ask.. So for now what you need to focus on is Making great bass patches: So, to make a beginner bass, get a defult patch in Harmor, turn the low-pass on A to 10% and 0% on B, and then turn the Sub up on both A and B, next turn on some slight distortion and then EQ the sub in the mixer up all the way.
Do what I told you. Try going more extreme with your style, it can be way more glitchy. Not bad overall, but bro heres a tip for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy: Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive" all the way up. Turn other volume knobs down to get the loudness you want. Once you've proved you can get heavy distortion, dial things back to find the tone you want. Focus on being LOUD!! Some amps won't distort at low volumes, mainly because that's dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like this, either just play loud or give up. >Blonde suburban guy >bedroom pop SKIP So how much are you lying about reading HPL? & You're trying to post like me so bad LOL This could definitely be more extreme >dream pop >trap >post-rock You really have no idea what you're wanting to do huh
>lacking confidence Trying to pursue a career in music will be a living hell if you're self-conscious. So let's get this sorted out because that's not acceptable. Being self-conscious is all in your head. You most likely have some serious rewiring you'll have to do. Have a mantra you can repeat in your head to feel confident and say it over and over if you're feeling self-conscious. Dogs don't drypost Post a picture next time to be more recognizable and interesting Definitely boost your bass I won't ever give props to pathetic s0'ybo'ys Your beats are a bit generic and I recognize the Samples. the sample sounds like it was recorded to a 15ips tape machine with a live band going straight through a console, and the drums are coming from a drum machine, synth, or stock DAW drum samples, chances are the context won’t make sense, you should always focus on that crispy sound quality bro. In my mind I’m thinking “ok, what can I do to make these drums sound better, like they BUMP to the sample, but still stick out and hit hard?” Bro... Think about it like this, it might mean you have to be processing to the sample, or processing to the drums, or both. And generally needssome experimentation to make it BOOM in the speaker. And also mmatching the space is super key. This isn’t easy, it takes a really ADVANCED ear like mine. But if you can train yourself to listen to the ambience in the sample and recreate that ambience around the drums, but don't get confused. You follow? Next turn up the EQ low end (bass) and ta-da you're better.
He's just trying to be like me. Ok, here's what you really need to know. Bass is integral to music. It's is the true backbone to all music. Drums/Beats are ONLY rhythm, and guitars/synths etc are ONLY melody. But bass? Bass is BOTH. That's why bass makes or breaks a song. So when in doubt BOOST it out! Why would you think dryposting like this is a good idea? & & Since you wanna rep a garbage genre I'm going to have to give you a little history lesson so at least you can make a mistake on purpose. Years ago the music industry was deregulated and lofi became a thing. So I dunno what you think you're doing by being a legit response to the things real musicians like me do to stop the degeneration of music. And for real bro, lofi? Come on......Bro, "lofi" isn't a safeword to avoid criticism on EQing and mastering. It's not just to clean up sound quality, EQ is to make space for all the elements to fit together. If multiple elements of a mix occupy similar frequency ranges and attempt to fit into the same space, the result will often sound muddy, and basically just a MESS, it doesn't sound "indie" or whatever you shmucks say its like, its just embarrassing.
I could give you a million and one options for how you could enhance your music, such as adding more experimental elements to it, but at the end of the day I'm sure you'd avoid all of it. 99% of Pop music out there is cookie cutter. That's why people hate my music, I'm actually trying to change the genre up instead of pooping while listening to kicks hit on 1 and 3 saying yup! that's finished!" >Spotify Bro, no offence bro but spotify will destroy your career, or I should say your attempt at one before it even begins. Spotify's whole gameplan is to securely steal music from artists and then when that artist disappears they rebrand the music under a new name. Basically like what the industry did with Lady GaGa but now it's Spotify doing it and no one knows.
bro you've literally responded to me before with the exact same feedback. u just rage out at the sight of a spotify link? review the music ya dork

I like your style man. Unique and rare without being disjointed.
Nice, a tad relaxed, but nice.
Here is my piece I recorded last night. Mainly a bass guitar highlight with a slight funky flare. Every instrument was done by me. And my other stuff can be found on my channel as well
Do I look like I'm raging? LOL I'm just trying to help rookies like you. No need to get so insecure around a man like me. Here's what you should really do: -1st buy fl studio, its all you need at 1st -2nd make a kick/snare rythem -invite some producers over to hang out and get them to help geta melody / bassline idea -3rd get some studio time, 4th, get some experienced producers to work with you during your session(s) 5th let them do whatever they want to the song to make it good. 6th DONE! you have a new song you can upload online and start blowing up!
I'd love to have some better production on my stuff but I do kinda enjoy the slight charm and humbleness of just using a simple Tascam recorder, cheap keyboard drums, and Audacity. I don't know if lo-fi stuff is shunned here as I don't frequent Yas Forums often
If it's a specific choice that's your prerogative. When people use it as an excuse to be shitty producers I have to laugh at them. This would be better sped up at least 100 or 200bpm . Make it crazy bro. I can tell you're a big fan of me You still avoiding my advice? Definitely add more kick drums and have them go up an octave sometimes. Do what I told you Finish setting up your account rookie. Also next time post a picture to be more recognizable and interesting Not really jazzy enough >indie AND acoustic You should really talk to your doctor about getting your testosterone levels tested because it seems like they're dangerous LOW if you're making this limpD music.
a little quick drop for the kids in zoom classes. proud of the last and first track cause I had no idea how they were gonna come out. if any of you guys want to rap over/fuck with the instrumental of track three PLEASE hit me up
Oh my lord y'all are bringing the heat today. Last three posts I've seen were all great. Love those chiptune-esque synths. Something I'm trying to tap into. Feel a lil embarrassed right now honestly to post this shit I made in like a week.
How upsetting would it be to know that I'm actually more functional than you? Just because you live with your mom and play video games does mean everyone else is Nuzmales too.
Besides, stay on topic; This is a share/musical criticism thread, not a get-insecure-thread.
It'd be cool if you'd add really fast polyrhythms to your stuff.
the pads in the title track really elevate it. the melody is a lot of fun as well. i'm not sure it's jazz fusion, tho you know your music better than everyone. definitely seems future funk/original vaporwave, but that might primarily be bc of the kazoo and flutes. i have made a song like this one before. the texture is really good and the reverse sounds are always pleasant to listen to in an ambient track. i think my only suggestion is don't be afraid to layer further upon a track like this. complexity doesn't do ambient music wrong. another guitar might add a lot, or perhaps a quiet synth drenched in reverb.
>It'd be cool if you'd add really fast polyrhythms to your stuff. I've been thinking that as well, especially on stuff like the first track. I'm gonna have to try that on the next lil tape.

What an obnoxious edgy faggot, no wonder you can only make knock off korn rap
Ryder Morales
Looks like I struck a nerve. Go waste some time playing children's video games while the adults talk music production. I look forward to hearing it I think your stuff would benefit from more reverb. I imagine it sounding good as a song being played in an empty church while you battle an opiate OD. Don't be afraid to ask me for help
Shilling an ep I collabed on: >cosmic jazz >dusty disco house >dirty mpc beats
If you guys like this one, it's up for free dl. plus a vinyl release is in the works
Cassiopea inspired I see. I really like your aesthetic, although I'd like to see more of those super colorful chord progressions used in jazz fusion. cool stuff
was listening to this the other day. Very cool, and eve if lofi is you style, I'd like to hear some clean funk from you.
