he owned cds of the police (zenyatta mondatta) and run dmc (dont remember)
>Neil Young
>Lenerd Skinner
>and shit ton the greatful dead
Pretty standard boomer fair
Radio hits from the 80's. I can't think of a single album he regularly listens to that wasn't released or at least recorded in the 80's. Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Bunnyman, things like that.
Folk music
don't worry, he's social distancing
he'll be fine
Damn, good taste
how old is he?
What the fuck is your dad 30?
He is autistic about 70s glam rock like T Rex, Bowie and Slade, and then more hippy 60s stuff like Donovan, the Beatles, Cat Stevens.
He also likes Elvis, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson. Has a few punk records but only likes the working class oik stuff like the Sex Pistols, the Undertones, the Stranglers. Doesn't like anything by Poshos, the only prog he can stand is Rick Wakeman because 'he's not up his own arse'
The last new music he has is Blur and REM, he stopped following music in the 90s.
he'll be 56 this year
Iron Maiden, Queen, Kiss, Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, RHCP, White Stripes, Twisted Sister are the only bands that are coming to me at the moment
he's 51. mainly just dream pop/shoegaze stuff. he got me into cocteau twins who are his favorite group
Basically my Dad except he hates hippy shit and is autistic about 60s bubblegum pop like the Archie's theme song. He had a cover band called the Reggie's when he was younger.
He's dead. He used to listen to some dadrock, disco, 80s pop, and Latin American stuff such as salsa and merengue
nothing because he's dead
he did like alice cooper and stuff like that though
music :)
My dad has severe tinnitus and hearing aids. He can't talk about it without tearing up. He gave me his record collection a few years back. In between shitty local bands and pop compilations I found some gems like Sabbath, Zeppelin, Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, Beatles, Stones and even weirder stuff like Einsturzende Neubauten and Ash Ra Tempel. I really wish he didn't have to suffer like that. Whenever there's music in the room it's just distracting to him.
I know this is a meme, but my dad does like Pharoah Sanders, Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Harry Partch, and Sun Ra
Biological dad - romanian folk music and probably WWF OST/Entrance themes.
Stepfather - dadrock that he literally creates and attaches far right rhetoric to. Insists that "you can't get what you want" was made by the beatles and not the rolling stones
Pagode
Blondie, ABBA, REM, New Order, 80s Madonna, Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, The Clash
He went mostly deaf due to working in quarry since 11 (his dad owned one). I think listening to music makes him sad now, as it reminds him of what he has lost
Standard Classic hip hop and boomer rock. I used to be a wrong generation kid because of him
Yeah mine loves British invasion pop too, though not the fucking Sugar Sugar song
Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Mother Love Bone, Tool, Toadies, Live, Mad Season, Temple Of The Dog
that is gen x though
:(
Mine's a Gen X'er who likes hiphop.
Big four thrash. Fucking wanker,
Melodic Black/Death Metal, Heavy Metal, some Electro Pop.
I love my dad's taste, it is really varied, unpretentious and nice, he told me he used to be into regular Death/Black Metal but over the times he has grown to love melody in his music, his favorite band of all time is Lacrimosa which is based as fuck.
he was born in '64 which is the last year for baby boomers
Blues, country and Dixieland.
t. My dad was born during WW2
>Dad
>Listening to progressive rock
No they don't. That's either for quirky uncles or zoomers.
dadrock, but he got tired of it around 50 so he's open to whatever I play. He likes funk-jazz and some prog rock.
He listens mostly to the radio, but I know he likes Quebec trad music, but not enough to know bands or whatever.
what is quebecois traditional? is it like french music with the accordians?
The Human League
Uncles can be dads
Pink Floyd
Sting solo
Pat Benatar
most of the time edm mixes on yt
Nah, it shares roots with southern states folk music (since a lot of southern states were originally colonized by the french in the 17th century, like Louisiana). Lots of scat singing used in older songs.

My dad is a deadhead, but also listens to Deep Purple, Mountain, Iron Butterfly, Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Delaney & Bonnie
Of course he is a deadbeat look at the fucking tunes he rocks
Police and Viking War Music
he listens to way too much for me to list but the acts he's put me on consist of Alison's Halo, Hop Along, and most recently Paavoharju. Also I believe his personal favorites are The Clash, Uncle Tupelo, and Fugazi
I like the third song the most but that sounds almost like yeye mixed with folk
This is SOCA
huh?
Mothers of Invention and other early Zappa. He also really liked the tickets I got him for that recent "The Who" tour and he really likes classic rock like Spirit of The West and shit. He's 61 this year and I don't think he's listened to any music from the last 30 years intentionally
>Alison's Halo
Fucking based boomer.
Was he a twee/anorak back in the day?
It's hippie boomer rock
Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, a lot of old school metal as well as a lot of 80s thrash metal.
Blues, hard rock/metal, ska, punk, reggae. He's practically been on soulseek 24/7 for the past 10 years downloading all kinds of shit, plus his 200 vinyls and 600 CDs
