Based.

Ok, let’s settle this once and for all. What singe res did Black Sabbath invent? I’m saying stoner/sludge (Sweet Leaf and Into the Void) and thrash (Symptom of the Universe) and the rest of they’re stuff was just traditional heavy metal.

Adramelech - Psychostasia

They invented the umbrella term Metal. Now piss off.

That album is fucking great. All guns blazing is best track

You misspelled Hell Patrol.

Bbbbbbut much cream nad hendrix

Anyone who claims to be a metalhead and doesn't like Pantera is a pussy faggot and probably VERY uneducated in what good music is. Pantera is the ultimate compilation of all the best aspects of heavy metal. It's been game over since 1990.

I guess 99 was an exceptionally shitty year for metal, huh? I guess I'm stuck posting Nu-metal I listened to when I was 12

Actually, Steppenwolf invented it.

Exhorder > Pantera

IMO the early Nuclear Death stuff is better than Bride of Insect
Bride of Insect is too muddy, early stuff had razor sharp riffs

Listen to Karisma by Sabbat

Fucking lord, I can only imagine how absolutely mindblowing it was to be living in 1991 when the heaviest band was Bolt Thrower or Carcass, then out of fucking nowhere Effigy comes and blows EVERYTHING out of the water. It's heavier than shit that comes out nowadays. Sure, Butchered at Birth came out a few months earlier but it pales in comparison with guitar tone, bass, complexity, and especially the fucking vocals. Holy shit. Frank Mullen fucking invented the death growl, fuck Chuck's raspy high mid-tone. Fuck Barnes' cookie monster shit. Frank's vocals are still unrivaled to this day. I fucking wish I was there to see the impact that album had on death metal.

Based post. Reminder that Frank, and the rest of the band, was only 21 when they recorded Effigy.

>It's heavier than shit that comes out nowadays.
This. A lot of modern musicians are very proficient with their instruments, but they can't write music for crap. Modern metal has been so corrupted by senseless wankery that it has lost all its substance and punch. Suffocation and Demolition Hammer knew to make everything fit together, being crushingly heavy and enjoyable at the same time.

Exhorder are great, but they will always be B grade Pantera.

Psychedelic Grind? I need more like this but possibly less thin sounding if possible.

Friendly reminder that Paul Gilbert was right when he said that metal as a genre peaked in 1986 and it was steadily downhill after that.

The writ is a fucking jammer, that bass intro and then the SLAM of the song just exploding from nothing straight into full blast with that GROOVY riff!

does it count as having it if I fucking hate it but know of it?
