A COOF Supreme
What are some other spiritual jazz albums that don’t suck?
Sun Ship and Kulu Se Mama, also by Coltrane
That one sucks though
*stars drumming*
>If we all listen to pic related and pray to Saint Coltrane will he save us from infection?
It's worth a shot. Worst case senario, you get infected anyway but at least you got some time to reflect on the greatest musician of all time.
Not jazz but here’s some good plague music from ECM
Comfy album to get through the infection
Hilliard have a great album with my boi Jan too!
which jazz musicians died from da coof?
bronchial pneumonia
based!
Roy Haynes always improved everything he touched
Agreed. I hadn't heard much Chambers but he's very good on that release
>I hadn't heard much Chambers
how? he's everywhere
Man, Paul was a tall boi
a criss cross record a day keeps the virus away
Most of what I've listened to is from the 60s. I think I've only heard half a dozen albums with him, outside of Miles Davis
alice coltrane
Even St Coltrane can’t save you. I’ll always take an excuse to listen to ALS though. Putting it on now.

I hadn't heard of this before. Really dug that first track. Holland is phenomenal and it's nice to see an accoustic band in the 70s

Bass solos suck 95% of the time. They almost always take away any energy or momentum from the song and it forces everyone else to play extremely quietly if you want to even hope to be able to hear the bass. Even if the bassists intonation is good, it’s still hard to hear a sense of melody to what they play (and most of the time the intonation is not very good.) they could be playing their solo in the complete wrong key and most people would have no idea.
It’s a shame that it is seen as a necessity that the bass player must solo sometimes.

how bout some spice.
So I've listened to Naked City, where do I go from here?
free jazz?
That's what I'm looking for but whatever you think is appropriate
thanks for this. he is my favorite contemporary pianist but i haven't heard some of his earlier albums
Maybe there should be a daily jazz listenalong. Like where someone picks an album for each day to start the thread and that's what we all listen to and talk about.
