w-what if we're in the wrong guys?
>music is one step above elevator music
>terrible vocal range
>terrible live shows
>relies heavily on gimmicks
>brother writes 80% of her music
>upheld as a woke socially conscious goddess when her parents are gentrifiers and brother is a biden supporter
Opeth is shit
... but I did like her album
>parents are gentrifiers and brother is a biden supporter
nigga this is HUGE
Pretty sure it's because of big tiddy. Billie Eilish is just 4/10 AT best
Notice how her biggest fans are primarily boomers. Makes you wonder how "threatening" she really is to the pop establishment.
I can understand cleaning up the neighborhood but what I don't get is why anyone would support creepy uncle Joe.
I enjoy her stuff. Don’t really browse /moo/ too often so I have no idea what you guys think of her. I’m just visiting from Yas Forums since I have work today.
>söypeth
Also Steven Wilson.
Mikael also said about some pop artist, September, or something like that. Just because he usually has good taste, that doesn't mean he has full patrician taste.
Furthermore, put yourself in his shoes: would you risk your career by saying something negative about a teenager? I know bad publicity is good, but it doesn't make sense.
Based
Billie is probably the most discussed artist on Yas Forums so as you can imagine she has both die-hard supporters and seething haters. This is also the most reddit/tourist board on the whole 4channel so there's plenty of socialist trannies and underaged homosexuals. These "people" hate her.
>gentrifiers
Based Billie
Interesting
>This is also the most reddit/tourist board on the whole 4channel
you’re right, sadly
The opposite. The left loves Billie. ChapoTrapHouse is full of Billie waifufags.
Someone post the seething /leftypol/ screencap please.
from what I’ve seen communists hate her because she’s capitalist, feminists hate her because she’s anti-feminist, reddit hates her because she insulted hip hop and homos hate her because they’re faggots
/ourgirl/
/leftypol/ and CTH aren't exactly ideologically aligned.
>liked by skilled musicians who spent their entire lives understanding the craft
>disliked by bitter incels and leftoids
really tells you everything you need to know
Pavement frontman Malkmus waited half an hour just to get a photo with her :)
Most musicians are leftists you dumb trumptard.
/r/CTH are fringe leftists who lean NazBol. A much better idea would be asking /r/socialism and /r/anarchism what they think of her, even /r/criticaltheory.
good for him, but I'll keep thinking she's shit unless she produces something good
most of the ones who support her are liberal centrists not leftists
Yes. For some reason, establishment Dems seem to love the "defiant white teenage girl" trope, hence why they love Billie Eilish, Greta Thunberg, and Emma Gonzales so much.
I don't think that "most of the ones who support her" are obsessed with politics. She doesn't care about it.
If you at least passable taste and intellect, there's no way you can rate her album lower than a strong 7/10 pop piece. That's minimum.
the virgin girl symbolises innocence
She obviously does or else she wouldn't be associating herself with political causes and having political organizations join her on her tour.
liberal centrist arent obsessed with politics lol. they want to maintain the status quo
If you needed any more confirmation that Christgau and Fantano are fucking hacks, this is it. At least Scaruffi just gave her far more superior EP a 7 and just a decent score (which is what it deserves) to her debut. Putting that album anywhere near the top 10 of the decade is just insanity. even more for a critic that supposedly has listened to countless pop albums from that decade. It's extremely obvious shilling at this point.
This.
I mean, her brother supports Biden (parents probably do too) so it makes sense.
>her parents are gentrifiers and brother is a biden supporter
>her brother supports Biden (parents probably do too)
I'm deleting her discography right now
As you should, because her music is trash.
Which political causes does she associate with?
Her EP is better because she's actually singing on most of the tracks. On her album she whispers 95% of the time.
>>music is one step above elevator music
This a Bargain bin diss. This is like when niggas say “Coldplay could shit in a light bulb and all they fans eat it up”, You a stupid ass nigga. thought you had something on fucking “elevator music” nigga get a job
>At least Scaruffi just gave her far more superior EP a 7 and just a decent score (which is what it deserves) to her debut
Why do you think that the EP is superior to her debut album? Honestly I didn't even pay her much attention back then because her early stuff sounds very bland and safe to me - well produced, but forgetable. There's so much more to the album.
, the album gets tiring quickly too, her vocal style is sooo annoying
Terrible opinion, only memorable song on the EP is Ocean Eyes.
Album has has Xanny, Crown, When the Party's Over, ilomilo, Bury a Friend, I Love You.
That argument makes no sense, from several points of view. The same vocal technique used on EP returns on the album (the ballads there) while it's also enhanced by more intimate, ambient delivery where it fits.
Agreed
Actually I take that back, Bellyache is pretty good too. But yeah her EP still sucks.
I don't know what Scaruffi was thinking giving it a 7.
The EP is 6/10 and the album is 9/10 imo
Climate change, abortion rights, gun control, basically standard Democrat shit.
The album would have worked the best had it been just Xanny, Crown, When the Party's Over, Bury a Friend, ilomilo, and the ballads at the end, with When I Was Older added in there somewhere. 45 minutes of raspy whisper vocals is tiring to listen to.
>climate change is a "political" topic in the US
americans are retards
How is it not? Climate change has everything to do with political policy and the runaway capitalist economic system.
"bad guy" is genuinely a great song though, it's only been devalued by the global attention it received. Other than that I agree with the highlights you picked, but would you really remove the rest? They certainly serve a purpose and widen the thematic scope of the record, the only filler imo is "wish you were gay". I'd gladly swap When I Was Older for it, like you suggested.
>neoliberalism which is responsible for the vast majority of climate destruction since 1980 wasn't a policy guize
You faggs do realize "Climate Change" is natural, and we're currently at the end of, and at the dawn of a new one right? But just bend over to the corporations and accept those carbon taxes, huh.
i wanna shoot a huge load of cum on her forehead and watch as the cum drips down her body all over her tits and she rubs it around and licks it up
>1. "You Should See Me in a Crown"
>2. "Xanny"
>3. "When the Party's Over"
>4. "When I Was Older"
>4. "Bury a Friend"
>5. "Ilomilo"
>6. "Listen Before I Go"
>7. "I Love You"
>8. "Goodbye"
>releases "Bad Guy" as a non-album single
Ah, now it's a 9/10.
Hmm, interesting. Very vivid description, makes you imagine things.
100% this.
97% of scientists agree climate change is man-made.
>But just bend over to the corporations and accept those carbon taxes, huh.
You do realize corporations are rarely taxed that much, right?
>What is publicity
Yea im thinking its a good business move, still cringed thought
>dropping "my strange addiction"
>dropping "all the good girls go to hell"
Dude, please. I don't even enjoy good girls that much but it's a crucial song in the context. As is often the case, the artist presents their background and influences with debut album and it wouldn't be a proper Californian pop excerpt without sneaky Snoop Dogg synths thrown in there. And that's just the sound of it, disregarding lyrics - which are some of the better ones there.
