Pretty girls is her only good song, change my mind. Oh also that song she did with danny l Harle

>Rich dad
>Rich dad in marketing
>Rich dad in music marketing
>Rich dad in music marketing for Fader
>Literally signed to the Fader label

INDUSTRY PLANT
UNTALENTED HACK
BEDROOM POP CO-OPTING SHIT

i want to meet her at a concert and be her friend :

i was supposed to be in one of her music vids, but then she flaked

I hope Pretty Girl gets a remaster. Its one of my favourite songs but lacks good production

She's writes all her music herself and that's all I care about. How she is marketed is irrelevant to the actual music

She literally lied about how she blew up and the marketing behind her and called everyone a sexist for bringing it up. There are plenty of good female bedroom pop musicians who didn't work their way into the industry in as of an emotionally dishonest way as her. I.E Lindsey Jordan, who comes from a middle class Baltimore family and released a full ass EP that sat for two years before blowing up.

She didn't lie, she just didn't mention it because why should she. Its not really relevant

She's irrelevant industry plant pop-pap garbage. Fuck off already.

jar of peanut butter.

Hope she goes back to making lo-fi

I met her at a house show in philly, seemed alright but ive heard she can be a bitch. but she performed and it was very bad, did a bad daniel johnston cover and had to stop halfway through.

Just use a filter, you don't have to hear about her and we don't have to see you whining. its a win win

fuck off brandon

God I wish she would spit on me

reminder

>dates dude who makes a living off ripping off old 70s rock songs

Can we add Natalie to that mix

Attached: charles+natalie.jpg (1241x1730, 319.43K)

the songs sound similar but i wouldnt say its a rip off at all, just the same melody

she’s ugly

its called heaven bruh

>the same melody
>not a rip off
people get sued for shit like that

Yeah I can hear some similarity but its not like doing lo-fi with some stock drum beat was that original in 2015.

>same melody
wut

Pretty Girl for reference.

Wasn't Pretty Girl a backing track she bought off of some website and just put vocals over?

That was Flamin Hot Cheetos I think and it was just a sample, not an entire backing track

Matriarch of the Cottrill family

Did she honestly call Pretty Girl "expensive sounding"

It does, well relatively, if you know about music production

I don't get the continued hype over her. I mean she's cute and ooks like a young Jennifer Connelly but without the 10/10 body. But musically she fell from comfy ass bedroom pop to an even more basic and generic billie eyelash

>Clairo
>Good song

It sounds like it was made with a 30$ keyboard and audacity

Fallacious af. All pop stars have connections of some sort. What makes Clairo's situation any less "authentic" than someone whose uncle works at Sony?

Also, I don't think people think that supporting Clairo or Billie Eilish and helping them gain sustainable popularity is a revolutionary act in itself, but any kind of change in the music industry isn't going to happen if the majority of people keep consuming manufactured garbage. Artists like Clairo and Billie exploding in popularity and gaining huge awards and critical acclaim helps to turn consumers on to moving towards less label-controlled, more independent and avant-garde artists who don't need a team of writers and producers dictating their every move, which we need the majority of consumers to do if any kind of change in the music industry is going to happen or be successful. If a single teen girl (Clairo) or two siblings (Billie and her brother) can do in their bedroom what it takes 20 writers and producers to do in a boardroom it proves to consumers that the music industry is mostly fake and in need of a change. That's how it happens: society needs to recognize that what they're being fed is shit before their attitudes shift, and the way to do that is by giving them a taste of something which isn't shit. In this sense, Clairo and Billie are doing exactly what Bernie Sanders is doing just in a different field.

she literally signed to the label where she knew the guy in control, so she wouldn't be screwed over by shady people in the industry. if you're a kid and see your neighbor offering you candy you're more likely to take it than if a total stranger offered you candy. it's that simple.

I fucked her, she stank

Based.

If you unironically like this spoiled attention whore's garageband jingles you should probably give up music forever.

Not sorry.

Industry plant or not, I generally like her songs and she's got a pretty voice. Lots of musicians have famous/wealthy connections so unless she's lying about her producer / songwriting credits I don't really care.

Make me

>If a single teen girl (Clairo) or two siblings (Billie and her brother) can do in their bedroom what it takes 20 writers and producers to do in a boardroom it proves to consumers that the music industry is mostly fake and in need of a change.
The opposite: the presence of industry plants like Clairo and Billie who faked their DIY viral success stories does more to prove to the public that the music industry is full of BS.

Nah. It was a recommendation not a demand. Do what you want

How the fuck did either Clairo or Billie "fake" their success?

>Tame Impala
So she's never going on tour with a terrible """"""""""""""""""""psychedelic rock""""""""""""""""""""""" band? Seems ok.

Whats wrong with advertising bands. Its the same as any business

It's not the advertising but the dishonesty. Pretty Girl only went viral due to Clairo's daddy's money and Ocean Eyes only went viral due to Billie's brother already being in the music industry. Neither one of them is truly a DIY artist.

seethe harder Charlotte

It's unironcally mysgogany.
Does anyone here that the The Strokes being rich kids who met at a Swiss boarding school despite their gritty underground NYC image? No. But when female artists benefit form connections it's suddenly a massive scandal.

Pretty Girl went viral happened before she signed to the label. Youtube algorithms are what made it popular if anything. Plus she only signed to the label after other labels reached out to her so its not like she wouldn't have been successful without her Dad, she just wanted to sign with something she had more of a connection to.

* does anyone care

Neither one of those would have gone viral had they not had some sort of popular appeal.

I agree, but there is something to be said about white liberal America's fascination with the "defiant white teenage girl".

why is her face so goddamn face lmaoooooo

this would make sense if the original argument was "she's shit, x popstar is much better" but the argument here was "she's shit" nothing more. also pop is 99% entertainment with no artistic value whatsoever so who cares
