People on Yas Forums are so pretentious they still talk about nothing but albums. Singles are almost never mentioned. They've inherited this from generations of music snobs before them who started this obsession with albums when album oriented radio came out on the FM band and they proudly continue it, even though the album should be dead in an age of playlists of hundreds of songs stored digitally.

The entirety of Yas Forums likes to be contrarian just to be contrarian, but Yas Forums I think is the worst one in this regard.

Yas Forums is based but I got banned when I said "Hai to Gensou no Grimgar" was shit when it premiered. I mean talk about an anime that was all aesthetic and no substance. Boring as fuck. No. I've actually been surprised by the lack of pretentiousness on this board. I think we just get that reputation because our board centers around a type of art. Hardcore film/literature/music enthusiasts are often thought of as stereotypes, (that's probably justified to a certain extent), but we don't have much of a problem with that here.

Yas Forums is pretty bad. You'd think they would be super anal about the 'classics' and REAL anime, but instead they defend shows about cute girls drinking tea to the death.

Honestly most boards have gotten past their genuine elitism phase. Now everything is ironic and its cool to act like an oblivious newfag or angry twitter tourist. I'm surprised rage comics haven't made a comeback.
