My aunt knew a guy her and her friends called Big Jim back in the 80s. He was a really nice and sweet guy, and he was really into thrash metal. When I was little and he was dropping me off at elementary school, he would constantly play thrash metal and crossover thrash in his pickup truck. He died twenty years ago today from a brain tumor. Thanks for introducing me to metal, man. Rest in peace.

RIP Big Jim
That's not metal. There's no chainsaw guitars or bulldozer drums.
based and Di'Anno pilled
Maiden cannot into prog metal.
based Jim
>trusting your acquaintance with your kid
would never happen today
Killers is the second-worst of the first seven, Piece of Mind being the worst.
>let's rock n roll, guys
After 14 years of getting into metal on the wrong end (nu-metal -> death, grind) yesterday I got to listen to the first 2 Iron Maiden albums. I'd never have listened to "dad rock" in my teens but this is pretty good stuff.
You're right, but it would sound like metal if played with guitars
dad rock is god tier
>tfw no ukrainian metal gf
For me, it’s Tara.

More like this? Was super into the vocals and spacey/ethereal sound along with a metal tinge.

Based because you don't pretend to like Emperor.
I guarantee Tourniquet and Antestor would have way better reputations and more well liked if they didn’t have the christian metal label
Saxon rules

Absu - Tara
Angel Witch is awesome, however the song Angel Witch is fucking annoying
Mercyful Fate rules
my arms your hearse was the last opeth album to incorporate black metal in their sound. it is the -least- black metal of the original 3 albums, but still has enough to label it black metal, or at the very least blackened progressive death metal, since that album also was the start of akerfeldt's deep growl vocals instead of the typical black metal shrieks found on orchid and morningrise
morbid visions, what about it. first wave black metal. fenriz confirmed. same as slayer. deal with it
Grim Reaper rules
>Piece of Mind being the worst.
Holy shit taste
Twisted Sister rules
What’s the opinion on this album?
emperor is pretty fucking gay. i tried to get into them but i found only two songs were good. and they were both on the 4-song EP with faust. black wizards and key to something something cosmic creations.
Holy shit what were they thinking
pretty good
Emperor is the peak of black metal
Immortal is the only heavy black metal band
I don’t like getting into autistic genre arguments but just because Opeth had shrieks doesn’t mean they were black metal, since there is a riffing/guitar style and often production style associated with black metal. Same goes with Morbid Visions, Fenriz is not the arbiter of what is and isn’t black metal just because he’s famous
I think this album is a masterpiece, what do you all think?
Let's settle this debate once and for all: Is glam metal good and the best nu-male filter of all time, or was it horrible and just a shitty fad that should never be revived?
So?
>we want to send a message to the world
>lets do it through the most obscure and niche genre possible
why do metal bands do this?
...
Early glam is based like van halen or dokken, late glam like warrant and bon jovi is a fad
It depends on my mood. Peace Sells is more dense with riffage but the leads on Rust In Peace are God tier
based truthposter
its pretty accepted that early opeth were black metal
even their wikipedia page says so. and i didnt say it was -just- the vocals were the only black metal part of it. the riffs were black metal-ish too. no they werent trve kvlt burzum worship. take your own autism elsewhere.
My fav thing about that album is that everybody's shit at their instruments except Harris who's already a beast on bass so they put it really far up in the mix. Fuck what anybody says thats their best album
Killing Is My Business...

hi
Does anyone please have a DL link for Starspawn? All the ones in the archive are dead.
>listening to metal for lyrics
the vocals are annoying.
and now im thirsty for an irn bru. thanks for that me lad.
>the riffs were black metal-ish
Post three (3) examples.
hey
Pretty solid overall
slsk
thats my point retard
no one cares about lyrics in metal so why do they try to deliver a message through it
How do you not have soulseek in the year of our lord 2020?

fenriz is extremely knowledgeable on music. he's spend years researching into music, and even put it to a chalkboard in a multi-hour college-like lesson. so its not that he's famous. he knows his shit.
he isnt even famous outside black metal fans. which is one of the more underground genres of metal.
