I'll unironically say the US's current condition is Trump's fault. We had a pandemic team (who wouldn't have magically stopped COVID-19 from coming but would've severely halted it) that he dismantled and he waited months to do anything in response. Instead of being a man and owning up to this he called a reporter a disgrace and the question "nasty" when he pressed if he had any responsibility for the current state. People have died and will continue to die and the market is hurting directly because of his actions.
