Usually Kurt is one of my favorite guitarists but this was just ok.
Honestly is there a single album on Criss Cross that isn't pretentious unimaginative and boring?
Did you know there are people who will tell you that ALL jazz is pretentious unimaginative and boring?
Yes, but their opinions are irrelevant here.
Yeah, it's almost like those critiques don't actually mean anything huh?
edging to this
No offense I've just never heard anything from kriss Kross that I like, pharoah Sanders also sucks
What Criss Cross albums have you heard?
I have to admit that having cover art that doesn’t suck makes me more likely to download these
Quit being gay and start posting more jazz

post something more interesting than Criss Cross -core
so like, just goofy fusion or...?

I like this one better than the Larry Young's Fuel -album that I think is generally better regarded
neither one is Lawrence of Newark, though

why does cross cross trigger rockists so much lol
This isn't overrated.
I believe it’s one of the top ten jazz albums of all time, but it’s a little overrated.
Short attention spans I think

Those seem like contradictory opinions.
It’s not in the top 3 though which many people seem to think it is
I actually think Scaruffi's influence on board culture here and rym has inflated people's perception of this album's popularity. Sure, it's huge in the jazz world, but compared to KOB and ALS, I think it's impact is felt a lot less strongly across popular culture and society.
KOB and ALS are both in The Library of Congress for example, but Sinner Lady isn't...know what is tho? Ah Um.
It also has nearly twice as many people who want and own a copy on Discogs which is the closest thing I can think of to quantifying jazz album sales.
is there any guide to this based man? there are volumes and volumes of stuff from live shows and sporadic sessions out there but I don't feel like any of them were curated with care
