Fucking based, the old Ghosts disappointed me since all of its songs were far too short.
This is far better than old Ghosts thus far. "Locusts" sounds like if you took Bad Witch's "I'm Not From This World" and expanded upon that, they even returned to using saxophones

This is really good so far. Nothing mindbending but I'm enjoying myself.

if you can't tolerate ambient music, I'm not sure why you would listen to this. The original Ghosts was the same.

i'm loving this NIN renaissance. after Desperation Marks, i figured they were on the verge of becoming a legacy act. Then that trilogy happened, and now this. based Trent still got it.

Together was pretty gorgeous, overall enjoying Ghosts V so far.

It's above okay. It's not the greatest thing Trent's done, but its very enjoyable with some pretty layered sound

Locusts seem to sample a lot of stuff, I am hearing phones, TVs? Steps? There is tons of cool use of sampling in there.

Trent's sample game has always been amazing.
the "Aliens" power loader sounds in "Reptile" pretty much made me nut when I heard it in surround.

I know they are technical "two separate" albums but this might as well be double album separate into two parts

I know that he stopped "sampling" after Spiral, which is a shame, but it seems like something he's been getting back to.
The Lovers has an amazing sample of this creepy laugh from a TV or something.

nice to see reznor and ross recording and releasing entire albums for free during the coronapocalypse whilst other artists with already finished albums are postponing the release to maximize their social clout.

Trent has since far perfected his Dark Ambient game, original Ghosts was just the beginning of that.
Seeing a Dark Ambient NIN album after he had the soundtracks to work off of is something I never knew I wanted, but it is absolutely incredible.
